Dublin Hurling

Lads this is just hype generation and demand management. Make people think they are scarce and then flood the market and they get snapped up.
Its clever by HQ!
Dublin will still struggle to bring 25k whereas Cork will bring 45k which still is not a full house.
I got my tickets the minute they went on sale but I would not panic.

Replying To slayer:  "Some great posts here on the Dublin hurling forum. Have to say in my opinion it was the best any side has played against us in the John Kiely era. We have had defeats, but not with a man extra and ferocious aggression that Dublin brought. The defending was truly heroic and the Manager was brave in decision making.

We have had a run of great success and it has been amazing. But (and nothing against them) it wouldn't be great for hurling to see the game revert back to the big three. Three great hurling counties but it is healthy to see success spread around. It is always good to see Clare, Wexford, Galway and other counties step forward and in the last ten seasons of hurling, Liam has gone outside the traditional big three on seven occasions.

For that reason I hope Dublin keep the feet on the ground and just focus on Cork. Should be a cracker.

But for now, well done on a massive performance. Fully deserved and good luck from here."
I have to say Slayer, the Limerick fans at the game and online have been so gracious in defeat. Great to see them all wish us well, and a lot of them genuinely happy for us. Top class, Limerick fans. Top class.

Thanks for compliments on support..I'd love to see the dubs go on and win now and give the hurling dubs what we have enjoyed in last few years..

I agree - and I also think the Cork hurling fans will greatly outnumber the Dublin hurling fans.
Possibly 2:1

The Hill will be colourful to say the least.

Hopefully we put in another good and spirited performance.

Will Crummey go all the way to the DRA? Nothing to lose, has he?

Seems to be par for the course. Distraction if you ask me. Need to move on and focus on Saturday 5.

Most GAA people are in my opinion. You get a few from each county/club that aren't, but most are good folk.

Gone for a good few years. Even before Covid. Used to be a good day and way of spotting new chaps on horizon. Great cure after the New Years !

Sounds like both counties having similar issues with uncertainty over club allocations. Seem to be making it as difficult as possible for club members to apply never mind get them.

I reckon too that one issue is that if you are given a code through club that TM sometimes refuses to accept if you already have your own account, or just use regularly.

I know Cork are heavy favourites but we did beat Limerick and they are a better team than Cork.Anyone I hear from Cork thinks they have it in the bag.I know they always think that but love to really shake them up.COYBIB.

You're the last team standing beside the big 3. It would be amazing for hurling if Dublin got a result this weekend

Just some thoughts on the match from a neutral

Reasons Cork should beat Dublin at the weekend:
1. Cork are a serious team that have won everything they can so far this year (League Champions and Munster Champions) and winning is a habit
2. Cork have been building strength and depth for a number of years, they have a deeper panel than Dublin and have more experience of playing in packed stadiums all year, and also in a full Croke Park Last year.
3. Cork have real pace and a killer instinct in front of Goal and any mistakes by Dublin backs will be punished.
4. Cork fans will out number Dublin fans by about 7 to 1 even in Croke Park, making it more like a home game for Cork.
5. Cork have had the last 3 weeks off so they will be well rested and raring to go

Reasons why Dublin can be hopeful:
1. The Cork defence can be got at. This year Corks successes were built on blowing teams away by getting goals, Cork have however come under pressure where the opposition also managed goals. If Dublin can score goals (and we know they can) this could keep them in the game.
2. Corks last three games have been below par and been littered with errors and they haven't performed like they did earlier in the year (in their last 3 games they were trounced in Round Robin Game in Limerick, followed up by what can only be described as a stuttering/laboured victory over Waterford at home in final round robin game, and while the Munster Final against Limerick was enthralling, tense and tight stuff, overall the standard of hurling was poor from both sides and miles below the standards of what they produced in Croke Park in the Semi Final last year).
3. Dublin were superb against Limerick, even when Limerick finally edged ahead in the second half Dublin showed a ruthless streak with 2 goals in a minute to take back control of the game. They didn't crumble, they simply wanted it more and they deserved it.
4. This is another free shot for Dublin, nobody expects them to win, so this could allow them to take more risks, and play with abandon. This is already bonus territory for Dublin, whereas Cork are carrying the burden of expectation to win the All-Ireland this year, not just to beat Dublin. Cork haven't dealt with expectation well in the last couple of years.
5. Cork have had the last 3 weeks off, while Dublin have been sharpening their match fitness. Dublin should be ready from the off, but it might take Cork a small bit longer to get up to the pace of the game. If Dublin can get a good start and put Cork on the back foot, having to chase a game, is kind of alien to Cork, as they usually blow a team out of it and dominate them from there on.

More like 50:20! Or 55:25 maybe if it is actually full.

They are great supporters in fairness. Already broke record for league final and all games sold out.

Big take up here and footballers gone so won't be totally disgraced.

Yes, the Cork hurling fans are great tbh. It will be some atmosphere.

Hopefully the Dublin fans come out in big numbers.
I am looking forward to being on the Hill on Sat for it

I havent seen a team or squad announcement yet..
It would be great to have Danny back in the mix for his experience, especially with Chris out.

Be great if Danny was available but highly unlikely. Still hobbling down in Newbridge.

Conor Donohue be good call for centre back I think? Has been brilliant all year and can dominate and score in same way as Chris.
