Only outcome I see coming out of this present debacle is the old "them or us" - GOP v Dems will swing to America v Rest of the world. The Republicans, Tea party sector and Project 25 have discovered a champion in Mr T who can really rally the troops, stir up the base. Now it's the whole rest of the world that's the cause of all their ills, not just the Dems and poor old Joe. Very difficult to see it ending well for anybody.

If you will be so good as to humour me in your adoration of your idol. Could you please refrain from prefacing your posts with that declaration of love for him. We on this island are watching our pension pots - those of us lucky enough to have them, be they ever so small - shrinking before our eyes due to the antics of your hero. And please remember that this is an Irish forum, not an organ of the Red or Blue side of American politics.

Glad I'm retired and out of the rat race but Trump will enrich himself. Americans were warned but elected him anyway.

Since I'm not the only one that brings up Trump, Biden, American Politics, etc I'll assume you're crying because I'm not singing your tune. The person/people that monitor this forum seem fine with my posts so again quit your crying and learn to tolerate people that don't agree with you.

Truth hurts, doesn't it, means I got at you, and again, at almost eighty, these old eyes don't have a lot of moisture left. Can't say I'd expect anything other than an ignorant, uneducated, Trumpish, bullying retort from you anyway. So, trot along now, like a good little boy, enjoy the moment. It won't last. . ( hope my spelling and grammar are ok ).

Ha ha ha. So you're Trump's age. Fair play to you. I'll continue to post and I hope you will too. Variety is the spice of life.

Not if Gianni 'Johnny' Infantino remains as FIFA president. He's Trump's new best friend.

My money is on it going ahead. Too many photo ops for all the massive egos to pass up. Could be a bit like the Berlin Olympics prior to WW2. If the USA don't win they could be banished to - Greenland ??

Much better to travel from Ireland to USA than from UK. People clear US immigration at Dublin, so no investigation at US end. I traveled from London to US recently to Ny, and there was a 2 hour line at immigration in Newark. Imagining all those English football supporters trying to get in, and ICE waiting to deport them! Maybe Canada might be a US state by then… (I'm joking… I think)

Elon Musk hopes for 'zero-tariff situation' between US and EU

Elon Musk, the world's richest man and the face of the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency, said Saturday that he hopes for a "zero-tariff situation" between Europe and the United States.

"At the end of the day, I hope it's agreed that both Europe and the United States should move ideally, in my view, to a zero-tariff situation, effectively creating a free-trade zone between Europe and North America," Musk said in a video-link interview

UK only got hit by 10% tariff, which is not much relative to what was levied on China and EU. UK probably will negotiate this down to present levels, and I'm sure Starmer knows what he's doing. Trump appears to like UK but is hostile to EU!

Republicans are smarting after recent defeat in Wisconsin on Supreme Court nomination,a race that Musk was involved in! They're worried that they will lose both house and senate in 2026. Meanwhile, DOGE are laying off 25% of IRS… chaos!

Republicans won 2 of 3 special elections on that day plus got Voter ID passed in Wisconsin. True Musk was involved in Wisconsin but the opposition had a ton of billionaires on their side too. So in total Republicans got 3 out of 4 results on that day. Nice try though.

The IRS was another over bloated government entity that needed to be trimmed. Even with all this trimming the Trump Admin hasn't equaled Bill Clinton's government trimming from his time. Look it up.

The few in Florida that Democrats won were won by less than expected, and they aren't overjoyed on results. Ted Cruz has voiced concern on 2026 elections. Anyway I'm busy watching donegal vs Derry and the real upcoming game. Rebels vs Tipp. That's my real interest!
