I hadn't even noticed he wasn't in the squad to be honest. It's a tough one, to go from being an effective player last year to not getting much time this year. It's hard to keep eveyone happy.

McPhilips hasn't seen any game time since the league bar 2nd half v donegal. Brannigan has a v settled group in mind for starting 15 and replacements. It's a high performance environment and am sure mgmt are making the right calls based on training and matches etc .

He went back for the club for 3 weeks to get some game time in. Like he did last year.
Will be back in harness in two weeks and will be needed too.

That's a shame. He got decent time in the league this year, I thought he was definitely going to be a good option, but then hadn't been used in the championship at all. I I wonder why he fell out of favour. Couldn't blame him for walking, he was obviously not going to get playing. He was listed in the squad for Sunday tho, so must have been a recent decision.

Has anyone mentioned the loss Gary Mohan was at the weekend?

Incorrect. He has not left the squad.

He was picked in the match day 26. I'm sure you're incorrect.

I don't like that McBennett has left the panel, he is well capable but sometimes a manager just doesn't fancy a player and that's it.

A wider point on Bannigan, I've heard some stories from his time at Kilmacud and Malahide and all I'll say is bigger tests await. I know the bandwagon is up and running but we've only beat a couple of division 2 teams so far. Let's wait for quarters before we get too excited.

We don't have a clue of what's going on behind closed doors. If he was in form, bannigan would be picking him. You also have to factor in that football in 2025 is much different to 2024. Maybe his game dosent lend to the new rules at this level. Bannigan has done a good job this year in establishing new blood and playing some good football with it.

We are in the quarters. Get excited.

He walked on the friday after the team had been selected. A player who was definitely going to be in the 26 on a sunday would certainly not be let play a club match on the saturday

Yes, I believe P Joyce and D Farrell only putting out their reserve panels this weekend, don't want to risk any of their best 15 playing Division 2 teams. And sure Kerry won't be fearful of playing a wee Division 2 team either.

Few boys on here need to take some deep breaths, starting to get embarrassing at this stage. We beat a Down team who were relegated to Division 3 and have only played one division 1 team to date (Donegal) who beat us relatively comfortable at home..
Let's hold of one giving Bannigan the keys to cloghan until after we get a win over one of the big teams.
Lads on about winning an AI…. Let's try and make a final first for god sake.

Some of the lads here are already building a statue in cloghan. As for McBennet, if he was good enough he would be on the panel. Too many men here watching club games and don't see training

Wise up and just enjoy the run. You must live an awful sad life if your county reaching an all Ireland quarter final doesn't fill you with dreams and butterflies. Sky is the limit with this bunch

What is the obsession with the League divisions? This is Championship football, completely different animal. Time for people to give credence to their own county instead of looking doe eyed at their perceived "Big boys"

Galway had one mighty tough game At the weekend. They'll be sore after that. Downs no push over at the minute.

Think that's totally disrespectfully to a down team and management that didn't pull a dirty stroke or nonsense on Sunday they played as good of football as any div 1 team in ireland but just hadn't the tools to finish us off there probably one of the only teams left in ulster that play ball in the right spirit no goading when they score no antics off the ball total football classing down as div 3 is unfair Laverty at the end didn't blame monaghan for lifting the ball of the ground even though the media tried to put words in his mouth class outfit imo
