Replying To MalsBalls:  "i think talking about scotstown as favourites for ulster and even entertaining the idea of an all ireland is dangerous territory. Scotstown have been capable of winning ulster now for 10 years but cant seem to do it. i hope they do win ulster this year and if they do then they'll have a crack at the other bit but baby steps lads. kilcoo the first obstacle. Hopefully the lads are fresh after their training game at the weekend."
I think it's noteworthy they have come along at a time of serious opposition and teams in Ulster. Teams that went on to win Ulster and all Irelands… it's not for a lack of trying

Replying To Monaghan37:  "Would ya stop!! "Strong" and "aghabog, Eire og, Toome" should never EVER be in the same sentence. Same case as every year, majority of the teams that go up to intermediate go straight back down the next year, or the year after. And telling me they'll be senior? Do me a favour."
Some teams do struggle when they make the step up I agree but I do think drumhowan can take a bit of this years momentum and do well. I see a good side there.

Teams like killanny and currin have gone from junior to senior before.

Any Drumhowan men called up to seniors ? Few good young players could be worth a look. Aodhan Brennan and maybe caolan Reilly

Think Donaghmoyne are the clear running favourites for Intermediate next year. Far too strong to be there. Although I might be biased haha

Multiple U14,U16 and minor championships.... nothing to show for it. An intermediate team at best.

That's exactly what Monaghan need to take us back to winning Ulster titles! Players from the Junior county champions….

This attitude is ridiculous. If Kerry had taken that approach, the two Cliffords wouldn't have been called up. Obviously, the majority of the county squad is going to come from senior clubs, but there are often very talented players who happen to come from smaller clubs.

Any report of who (if any) new has been invited to a trial for the county team for the upcoming year?

I saw previously there someone mentioned some names. Any truth to it?

Some men that have been added I believe are Jack Doogan, Packie Doogan Burke, Paudie McMahon, (all Magheracloone) Louis Kelly, Ronan Boyle, Oran McElligott (Truagh) Bobby McCaul (A/mullen), Thomas Hughes (Castleblayney) probably one or two others.

Very good to see new faces. Hopefully a few can stick at it and keep the shoulder to the wheel and push for places if they are good enough.

No word of any retirements as of yet is there?

All the best to the United Parishes at the weekend. A comfortable 4 point+ win. And to Magheracloone who play as part of a double header.

I am not sure why more men from senior clubs are not being invited into the panel. Most senior players would stand out at these lower ranks..

Hearing that there's a lot of u20s being taken away to make up the numbers until senior players are back from extended breaks & club activities.
Is Bannigan seriously telling us there isn't 6-8 players over the age of 20 in the county good enough to make up the numbers?

Name the 6-8 players, who aren't there already, that you'd have replacing these under 20s.

Monaghan club football is in a poor health. Bleak few years ahead for county time.

Name who's there and I'll name who's missing.
