Well done to Ger and Tyrellspass. What a turnaround for them and they really deserved the win today. Tyrrellspass not guaranteed anything yet though. Shamrocks are in a better position on head to head.

Can we hand the trophy out to The Downs now? St Loman's lose to Shamrocks. Mother of God.

They were very good today. I stand corrected but we could be looking at a three way tie between Tpass, Shamrocks and C/K if C/K beat Athlone., C/K would have the best scoring difference of the 3 teams; which will put them in 3rd. Tyrellspass would be out unless they beat Lomans which on today's performance would be hard luck. That's also assuming The Downs beat Shamrocks but I still think the 3 way tie is a likely outcome.

The Downs guaranteed semi final spot in top position with the remaining three spots hard to call. Shamrocks likely to finish on 4 with them playing The Downs, that means they'll depend on other results, Loman's in danger of not making playoffs for first time in at least 10 years, need at least a point vs Tyrrellspass, Kinnegad vs Athlone hard to call as both sides unpredictable, Moate and Caulry a knockout game, hard to see Tang beating a qualified Garrycastle with Killucan the only side of the twelve clubs with nothing to play for against St. Malachy's. Rosemount vs Multy the big game in intermediate A.

Senior - The Downs to lose for sure; and it doesn't seem like the chasing back have any outstanding candidate either; all quite inconsistent.

Caulry and Moate for a QF; Caulry with injuries to key players at the wrong time. Hard to see Tang beating Garrycastle but Garrycastle will have a QF a week later and may have an eye on that.

Intermediate - Shandonagh guaranteed a semi already; they meet Tubberclair who will likely need a win due to the fact Milltown will surely get over Rochfortbridge; Multy and Rosemount a knockout game with the winners to face Miltownpass.

Section B so tight; Kilbeggan and Maryland could face relegation or a QF with two wins while a defeat for either will see Castledaly take second spot and face a QF vs Tubberclair/Milltown.

Junior - Ballinagore and St. Joseph's look to be the strongest two; the loss of key players for Loman's first team has made a big dent on their second team; hard to see a non-junior club going close this year.

A draw won't be enough for Lomans if Athlone beat Kinnegad.
Only way Shamrocks can get knocked out is if Lomans and Tpass draw, and Athlone fail to beat Kinnegad. Assuming a Shamrocks loss to The Downs, who may rest players.

It's boom or bust for lomans. A win and they could actually still get second assuming shamrocks lose and Athlone don't overturn the scoring difference. However Tpass look together and surely this is their time to beat Lomans, they have a great chance to put Lomans out of the championship

Lots of permutations for the last round It appears that anything can happen.what would need to happen for CK to get into quarter final.

Tyrrellspass have suffered their fair share of defeats to Loman's over the years, especially in finals. Hard to see it happening though if Heslin is back and Sam McCartan plays like he did yesterday. Nigel Harte a huge loss for Tpass

Report from Hoganstand main page:

A Westmeath IFC game between Maryland and Kilbeggan Shamrocks was abandoned after 44 minutes on Saturday evening due to an injury to Maryland's Cian Rainey.

There were worrying scenes when the wing back remained prostrate following a three-player collision two minutes into the second half of the Section B Round 4 clash at Killucan. A 12-minute stoppage ensued while Rainey was treated by medics before referee Mickey Dan Murtagh sensibly decided to call a halt to proceedings.

The stricken player continued to receive treatment until an ambulance, which had come from Naas, arrived more than an hour after it was called. Thankfully, the player's injury wasn't as serious as first feared - he suffered bruised ribs and slight concussion - and he was released from hospital later that night.

"Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Cian Rainey who picked up a nasty injury in our game vs Kilbeggan Shamrocks last night. Many thanks to all who attended to Cian after the incident," Maryland posted on Facebook.

Kilbeggan were leading by 0-12 to 0-9 at the time of the injury with a re-fixture set to be announced later today.
