How do we see our 3 country representatives fairing out this weekend in the provincial championship ?
St Lomans and Dunshaughlin is a hard call , it'd a huge game because the winner of this tie will surely fancy their chances of a run to the final , I'm hoping st lomans can turn up and sneak a win in navan but it is a tough place to go for any Westmeath team.
I personally fancy Garrycastle to have a good crack at the intermediate championship and I think they are in with a very very good shout to go all the way , I expect a routine victory below in Carlow Saturday.
CFCW it's hard to know I'd imagine eadestown will be a decent junior side but the CFCW lads are made of tough stuff it's hard to know what way it will go but I do think they will fancy themselves to have a good crack at a run in Leinster starting this weekend
Best of luck to all teams and management from each of our clubs representing the lake county

Interesting scouting mission for Dermot McCabe today in Nowlan Park. Ballynacargy Messi Sean Fagan playing for Barcelona Gaels. He even looks like Messi.

Would be a good appointment if true. I see Micheal Burke appointed Mullingar Shamrocks manager. Not much other managerial talk. You would imagine most clubs would try get jobs filled before xmas.

Well done to Athlone on winning their U16 Div5 final. Good to see an actual Div5 team win it. Serves Killucan management right for not talking their Div2 replay seriously!!

Athlone's first team are in Division 5? That's alarming.

And you were saying the Longford champs were streets ahead of Garrycastle? Longford champs gone at the first hurdle again, Garrycastle progress through.

Well.... its graded on your League performance so it is what it is.... probably the fairest way.
At least its not a 2nd string that's packed to the rafters when it comes to knockout out stage.

Well... there wasn't much in either game.... I'd say the Longford champs would have preferred to play carlow! Laois club football is far stronger.
Well done to Garrycastle. Hopefully they continue on their winning ways.

A very good victory for Garrycastle,Leinster is never easy and with a 5 day turn around from winning a county championship all that mattered was to grind out victory and they did well in the end Carroll and Sheeran taking good scores in vital moments to clinch victory, they'll take stopping now

How can any side's second team be packed to the rafters in knockout stages? Do they not have to name 15 players for their first team? Acccording to social media Killucan had 5 under 14s starting in today's match, 13-14 year olds would struggle at under 16 level.

Anyone doubting the new rules proposed wouldn't need much convincing after that game in Kinnegad this afternoon. Finea had chances to win but nine points in total scored between both sides says it all. Pitch and conditions were fine, both sides not contesting kickouts meant packed defences, lateral passing, it was a dreadful match to watch. Five points to four final score says it all

You clearly have no idea at all how these things work. Clueless statements

Good win by Garrycastle going away in Leinster never easy!
Carroll and Sheeran won them the game when they looked dead a buried. Players that played unbelievable 5 days ago like Monaghan and Cosgrove seemed to have left their boots in Westmeath! Couldn't get their bearings at all on front of goal must have kicked 10+ wides between them.
Shows you their strength of their panel at this grade when they have players coming on and kicking points to win it that didn't even play a minute in the two finals!

Wouldn't we all love to know how it can happen. Killucan started 4 players in their Div5 replay against Maryland and the same against St Joseph's last week that consistently started on their Div2 team in 2024. Fact.
How can they run Shamrocks to extra time in the first division 2 game... loose by the narrowest of margins... then when the 2 games are replayed at same time.... their management decide to forsake the div2 replay ... bringing the better lads to div5... Shamrocks hammer them. Explain that? Who exactly did they name in their first 15..... because it seems 4 or 5 of them don't exist.... or certainly didn't play against Shamrocks in the first quarter final or indeed for most of 2024...?
How do Killucan go through 2024 loosing all the 2nd string games.... comprehensively.... then all of a sudden.... start winning quarter and semi finals?
Wake up and stop defending the undefendable.
Lilliput will do the same in the U14 shield final. Just wait and see.
They seem to be gone very quiet when a few home truths are told.... "all about game time" with 15 kids standing on a side line in a div1 final.
