I cannot see Dublin apponting an outsider to manage the footballers. You d have Kevin Heffernan turning in his grave.
Although I know things seem gloomy after a loss but the Dubs when the embrace the new rules will still be very strong.
Declan Darcy might be in the mix and who knows who will come to the fore.
Also the batteries will be recharged next year and maybe Fenton might get the appetite back. He is still a yoing man.Regardless best of luck going forward."
Probably not but if they do Austin is the one for me.

Personally I would go for Pat again if it is to be a Dub, but I think Darcy will probably get it.
I had tipped Ger but after seeing how Louth faded this year, I am not so sure he is ready yet tbh.

One thing in Dessie's interview - he informed the DCB at the start of the season that he would be finishing up this year.
So the DCB have had months to prepare for this.
Based on this, one would expect a swift appointment.
If not, they are asleep at the wheel - which wouldn't be the first time....

I am not going to go hard on Dessie as he has given so much to Dublin GAA both as a player and a manager, and a lovely guy to boot. BUT - I, like many others, feel the Dubs were under prepared for the new rules this year.
Years of being coached one way and having to change this year - BUT these are multi All Ireland and All Star winners...
If lower rated counties can do it, then there is NO excuse for us not being ready to adapt to them.
I was shocked to hear his interview after the game yesterday when he said we do not have 2 point scoring players....!!!
Really...???? I am still in shock with that comment. All the players playing in Dublin and he couldn't find a single 2 point shooting player.

Anyway, fresh start now.... we will lose another 3 now probably but I hear 1 or 2 might be returning.

But on to next Sunday and another day out on the Hill shouting the Dubs on...

I might get shot down for this, however I believe the Dublin squad this year, on paper, is as good as any other squad out there, a good mix of youth and experience. They should have beaten both Armagh and Tyrone not saying the shoulda won the AI but they shoulda got closer than they did!

However! For some reason there has been a total systems breakdown because of the new rules! To me Dublin we're trying to play this season like it was still the 2nd half of the twenty teens!

I've huge time for Dessie on a personal level but I just feel it's been the perfect storm of old school manager not adapting to new rules! (God! I hope he doesn't look at this forum!)

And maybe I'm just completely wrong talking sh1te! Maybe if Paul Mannion had of hung around! Now there was a man that coulda kicked 2 pointers!

Meath are clearly a better team than Louth.
Meath have shown their true ability since the Leinster final, as have Louth imo.

I rate this Meath team highly and of course with Robbie at the helm - well he has added a lot to them also."
Agreed Fionn, was going to reply saying same!
