Took a stab in the dark going into clonkill v Plunketts, and instantly regretted it, the game lacked spark pace and any real skill, apart from Peadar Scally not one outfield player on either side looking like they even wanted to be there, the 2 goal keepers on both sides were outstanding both pulling off 3-4 point blank saves with Lynch deadly on frees, if my facts are right, price has only conceded 1 goal in 4 games. Anyway after them 3 players it was just dull. Onwards and upwards to tomorrow, wins for Castletown and raharney but the Gaels will run them extremely close, maybe 2/3 points in it

Thought Clonkill would have been firing on all cylinders after their big win over Raharney. Still had 9 points to spare at the end, decent effort from Plunketts.

Very poor fair indeed, Plunkett's seemed really out of their depth, basic handling errors and turnovers punished every time by a more clinical Clonkill.

I thought it was one of Plunkett's better performances this year. Clonkill were generally comfortable throughout but if they repeat that performance in the remainder of the competition it will be curtains. Quality of the fare wasn't great from both sides. Looking like a quick return to Senior B for Plunketts. Not easy in fairness but it's time to introduce some young blood which they must have.

A bit of justice for the gaels after last years final in fairness.

Castletown totally dominant, nothing more to say, but what a game we were treated to in the second one, the Gaels blessed to win but what a way to do it, to knock the reigning champions out in the exact same fashion as last years final , you couldn't write it, what an edge of the seat finish well done the Gaels

That was a fantastic match in the park. Arguably the game of the year. Hard to believe that Raharney are virtually out of the championship. They need Plunketts to beat Castletown and that's extremely unlikely. The Gaels were superb in the second half, their subs made a huge impact, no 12 especially on the stand side, Shane and David Williams were superb in the second half, Eoin Daly too, Raharney must be wondering how they lost but conceding four goals in two successive championship matches is a recipe for defeat and it could easily have been six or seven. Castletown have a path directly to the final if they beat Plunketts and the Clonkill Gaels match is virtually a dead rubber before they meet again in the semi final.

Is that Raharney exiting the championship and it also means lough lene gaels and Clonkill have to play each other in last group game then the semi two weeks later.

Fair play to them. It was a pure battling victory, just completely outfought Raharney in the second half. I'd say there's huge contrasting feelings in Collinstown and Raharney, Gaels will be elated while Raharney must be seriously disappointed in themselves after that second half performance.
Assuming Castletown dispose of Plunketts next day out, that's the holders out and a final with Castletown against the winners of Gaels and Clonkill second outing. Fair to say that not many seen that coming at 6pm today!

Castletown easily dismantled Pollard even without two of their best players David O'Reilly and Peter Clarke, straightforward win.
Fair play to the Gaels in the second game, what a super win and avenging last years heartbreak in the county final to the same opposition. I'd agree with Claret&Blue probably the game of the championship so far!

I suppose I have a keen eye for potential

Are Raharney definitely gone? Super result for the Gaels

Good call. Who was their sub on stand side? Made some impact and Raharney kept targeting his side which was costly.

Technically no, but in reality yes

So they need Plunketts to beat Castletown and you'd imagine with Castletown knowing this they'll make sure to put Plunketts to the sword.

Absolutely, beat Plunketts to go straight to the final but more importantly to put Raharney out. Castletown will have a bit of a wait until the final though.
The Senior B has a fascinating last round, a few different permutations, Delvin, Daltons or Ringtown could go straight into the final, the wood can't go straight to the final.

That would be minor concern but raharney won last year wait can work both ways
