I don't know how it's resolved but major surgery is required" I'd visit rekations in Louth a few times a year for past 30 years and used always enjoy taking in a few local games and saw some very enjoyable games over the years but in the past 5 to 10 years have seen a sizeable shift from good football matchs to robots playing the game in a characterless fashion . One time players were lauded for their fielding ability , kicking a dead ball off the ground , kicking with both legs or been able to solo , jink & weave your way through a defence . Nowadays it's beep tests , lifting weights , your height and weight and ability to retain possession rather than do anything creative with the ball sadly . I used attend football matchs in a number of counties but have largely given up , in Kerry you might still have pockets of Gaelic football but it's gone in most counties to athletes trying to play the game . S&C, dieticians, stats men etc have taken over GAA. They need to get paid, so this agenda is pushed by them that lifting weights, fitness testing is the most important part of Gaelic football. Congrats to Sam Mulroy, Tommy Durnin, Craig Lennon and Donal Mc Kenny who have all been nominated for an All Star. What a fantastic achievement for Louth to get four nominations considering we have only had five nominations before since the All Stars began in 1970.
