I think they played a couple of challenges against DCU and Meath. Not sure how they're going tbh. Squad seems strong and there's a couple of new young players too. I'm personally happy to see alex delaney in, I think he's a very good prospect.

Solid start to the league away v offaly. This team deserves a lot of credit as they continue to churn out performances. I'm confident they'll provide some good days ahead over the coming months.

Indeed. Great to see it. Shame footballers couldn't emulate them. What happened to them, they seemed to be cruising and then collapsed. From 28 minute to the finish they scored 1-3 to tipps1-11. Stark stuff.

I was at both games. Great gritty performance by the hurlers who just about deserved the draw. Missing a few key players at the start especially Chris Nolan who's suspended. They'd have certainly won today with him but Offaly were missing a few of their top performers so they'd say the same. With Waterford not having a competitive game today it will be very interesting to see if the hurlers can upset them next Saturday in DCP.

Footballers messed up big time. 8 point lead and in end could easily have lost. Missed Leno was crucial I suppose. A goal then and we'd have been 7 up and home and hosed I'd say. Poor calls from the sideline by Cake late on I'm afraid to say. Two scorable frees and he personally intervened to instruct first Darragh O'Brien to take the first and then Paddy McDonnell to take the second. Anyone who knows these players and no criticism of them knew they were never going to score those frees. Neither has enough of a whack of the ball in them. Kevin Murphy has been whacking frees over regularly and did precisely that for a two-pointer in the first half. Both frees weren't his side I know but he has the technique to adjust and would surely have scored one of them. Whatever went on in the Carlow dressing room at half time I dunno but they came out asleep for the second half after a dominant first half when by far the better team.

Desperate second half, Dunphy was running the show first half but went out of it and we struggled to get the ball up to the 3. Squad is just a bit weak not a whole pile on the bench to bring on.They have the potential to play well though so hopefully Waterford will be a win.

Sean Murphy and Jamie Clarke would be big additions.Neither of them togged yesterday. Injured or what?

Congrats to your hurlers from here also. I, like many in Wicklow have great respect for what you are doing in hurling down there. Keep her lit.

From what I hear. They have 39 lads in and will rotate squad . So you could see different team next week

It's an awful lot of lads. In fairness though it's a new management and you want to see as many as is possible.

Cake clearly aiming to win Leinster and just using the league to experiment. Sure, why not?

Disappointed to see that the throw in time for the footballers match in Dungarvan is 6pm on Saturday. Directly clashing with the rugby which I'd say most people planning to attend the football would also like to watch.

Rugby starts at 4.45pm meaning the most football supporters will catch of the rugby is the first half in some pub in Dungarvan if arriving an hour or so ahead of the football. Could the football not have been fixed for 7pm allowing home and away supporters to watch the rugby? Or if not why not throw in at 3pm and the players as well would get to watch it?

Maybe there's a particular reason for 6pm but if not then it's just a case of no thought at all going into it which is poor.
