Murphy being back only stopped Gallen scoring another 20-25 points from frees. I don't think he was as bad as people are making out here. Truth be told, the last two years are his best in the senior panel by a long shot. Being the main free and penalty man last year meant he scored more and rightfully was given an all star since he also scored a lot from play. eddieSize5Balls (Donegal) - Posts: 238 - 14/08/2025 23:34:40 2631970 Link 0 |
I don't think wanting to play for your club can be called misbehaving. We had people giving out last weekend that players played for their club yet when a player does he's 'punished'.

Nonsense... Murphy being there didn't stunt Gallen, anyone who watched our games live would see that every time Murphy got the ball he was looking to bring other forwards into the game. Gallen and Langan are 2 brilliant free takers

There was life last year without Murphy when we won Ulster and got to an AI Semi Final. A season Monaghan would love to have.

You could have done with McManus the day yous blew a 7 point half time lead in Croker this year.

We've made a semi final and won ulster without Murphy. What have Monaghan done after Manus? Oh that's right. Nothing.

Great game of ball in Glenties last night. Ardara credit to them. Just let it slip for a tad excited in the closing minutes. I felt the officiating was good at times but felt he was very against a certain player from the away side who seemed to get nothing from him. Maybe it's the name that he carries and reputation. I still think Naomh conail are trying to find there form, and get players integrated back in from the county setup, One big loss will be k Thompson, getting an op soon so out for season. On the plus, E O'Donnell is due back and will be available in a game or two. Hopefully big Gallagher can fill Thompsons position, but it hard to replace that experience. As regards the game, I actually through the referee was overly fussy and was frustrating at times. The full forward you are referring to for ardara, at the end of the day, I don't think he does himself any favours. And he got one or two calls where he started the wrestling and hold of the jersey. I must say, I was disappointed with some of the ardara supporters, cheering and goading Everytime a certain Naomh conail forward missed, considering that players Dad represented Ardara for many years with excellence. There was no call for it, as the game itself was played in a sporting manner. Maybe the excitement of beating naomh conail for the first time in many years got the better of them, which is understandable. But this naomh conail side don't do panic. Although with the form we are in, I don't see a county final. But I never write them off The keeper (Donegal) - Posts: 718 - 17/08/2025 11:59:26 2632238 Link 0 |
Naomh Conaill supporters have given their fair amount of guff to opposition players over the years so I'd be careful of that glass house you're currently in.

You missed the point entirely, I was merely stating that the player that was on the receiving end has a parent that played for ardara, imagine what he was thinking. And before you get all defensive again, I am all for banter and having the crack, but I never agreed with booing the opposition or cheering if they missed. And that includes my own supporters. Sure one can lose the run of themselves at times, but to do what I stated just does not seem right. Other than that as I stated it was a game played in a good sporting manner with players all shaking hands after. The keeper (Donegal) - Posts: 718 - 17/08/2025 17:01:05 2632272 Link 0 |
Yeah they never panic . Thats the point I was making in regards to the player. Was a few times he was fouled but the ref just didn't give it to him and that's down to his reputation. That can't happen either. Whyme923 (Donegal) - Posts: 67 - 17/08/2025 20:42:11 2632337 Link 0 |
I believe it was just a physical battle between his marker and the full forward. He was as guilty in grabbing the jersey and backing into him and trying to be cute. And the referee let them battle it out. I could see one time where he probably deserved a free and it went against him and he got a yellow. But he also got frees where he was fouling as much as his marker. Our subs made the difference in the end, brick, McGuiness and Gallagher all contributed to our comeback. But as I said, unless we improve drastically, I don't see us winning the championship. The keeper (Donegal) - Posts: 718 - 17/08/2025 21:53:57 2632347 Link 0 |
McCools second goal was some load of crap. Some capitulation from them too. Glenswillys two point kicking causing teams lots of problems. eddieSize5Balls (Donegal) - Posts: 238 - 18/08/2025 03:46:11 2632384 Link 0 |
Best wishes and speedy recovery to Ciarán Thompson who has done the dreaded ACL, hopefully we will see him back on the pitch for club and county next Summer! dgcrusader (Donegal) - Posts: 124 - 18/08/2025 15:51:45 2632504 Link 1 |
Absolutely wishing Ciarán all the best for a speedy recovery, he was sorely missed when he went off injured.
