Intermediate: Fr Manning Gaels by 4 (late drive to steal it)

Hopefully the rain stays off long enough not to spoil it all. With winner on the day and conditions messy, the refs might be busy and cards might have a big influence on how it all pans out."
Wasn't far off!!! Abbey had more cushion in the end than I predicted but otherwise results as expected in both games. Can't begrudge Abbey after losing so many. 18 years is a long time to wait, so fair play to them.

Under 21 and Juvenile championships left now, Clonguish will win both easily.

Don't know why you say we will win the juvenile easily. Granard beat us in the championship already and also hammered us by 17 points in the league. Our juvenile team is practically an under 15 team so next year should be these lads year. Granard will be favourites for that and rightly so. We would be favourites for the under 21.

county is at such a low level, it will be difficult for him. what can the expectations be? Probably the worst standard county final of the last 40 years. It was good to watch, but the standard of player was rock bottom. If Solan can make the top 4 in div 4, that would be something.

Know the standard is poor but promotion is still definitely attainable, weren't too far way last year and can't be much worse. Should really beat Waterford, London and Carlow for starters. Tipp seem to be sliding again big time. Wexford will be tough but that will be at home at least. Wicklow are an awkward team but you never know what they'll do. Limerick you'd imagine would be strong.

Should be finishing fourth minimum.

RIP PJ Carroll. Managed a few club sides in Longford and took Abbeylara to the final in 1998 and 1999.

RIP PJ Carroll.
Who else did he manage in Longford?
For some reason I'm thinking Colmcille but could be wide of the mark there.
Was he also in the running for the county job around the time Michael McCormack got it?

Frankie Dolan and Abbeylara were a short but successful combination.

Well done Abbeylara and Drumlish on their wins. Not many would have fancied either at the start of the year, but credit where it's due. It's impossible for Dolan to stay with Abbey now. There are not enough hours in the week to travel from Athlone to Aughrim, work, have a family life and manage a club which will settle for nothing other than retaining the senior championship.
