Sorry had sunday in my head lol he would be a big boost if yous got him on the squad hes a great player was at the league game. Think both starting 15 is very very even with armagh maybe shading it by our squad. However we have shit the nest a few times at this stage so it could easily be done again. I rate yous better than monaghan this time last year

I think you are right on the squad depth, ye probably have the stronger bench, which could well be the deciding factor. I think ye have probably had more heart ache defeats over recent years, especially with the penalties, but we have had some similar experiences of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Exited in a last minute defeat to Cork last year and the same to Clare in 2022. Both teams will have plenty in the way of motivation to right the wrongs of previous years and learn from those harsh lessons.

I'm expecting Armagh to give us much less time on the ball than Tyrone and ye will target our main forwards. If there is extra attention on the four scoring forwards from last week could that leave room for the likes of Enda Smith to have more of a scoring influence than he's had in other games. I think it's essential for Roscommon not to fall too far behind at any stage as it will take its toll trying to chase the game.

It's a pity the likes of Cathal Heneghan and James Fitzpatrick haven't been able to get more game time as I think they would be a real handful if brought on from the bench.

Biggest game in years on Saturday and I can't wait. I just hope we didn't put everything into last weekend physically and mentally and come into the game flat. Some of these lads will never get a better opportunity to reach the last 4 so I'm hoping they will leave everything on the pitch and have no regrets. We will need to tighten up defensively because Armagh won't kick wides like Tyrone. This will definitely be a step up in all ways Saturday but Armagh have a lot of bad memories over the last few years at this stage and I'm sure that will be in the back of their minds. This would be unbelievable to reach last 4 so fingers crossed that the lads can bring the performance of their lives.

Roscommon are well able to beat Armagh. Back yerselves. I backed ye last weekend only for my own team to let me down. I'm backing ye to beat Armagh this weekend and reach a first semi final since 1991. Best of luck.

I though our defence last Saturday started at number 15 and continued for the full 74 minutes. The same will be required this Saturday. Our defence is tested every night at training trying to curtail Diarmuid, Daire, Donie, Conor, etc which is not an easy task. Are the Armagh forwards any better?
Management deserve some credit at least for having made a few changes over the last couple of matches which seem to be working so far:
* More emphasis on pressing the opposition kickout.
* Having the confidence in a young player like Niall Higgins to mark the talented Darragh Canavan. (Most supporters would have given the job to Brian Stack)
* Rotating R. Fallon into fullback with allowed Brian Stack to move to center back and do a lot of damage. I thought Brian made several great runs into good spaces last week and was not given the ball.
* Robbie (Duracell) Dolan has become a very important player for us and does not get enough credit in implementing our gameplan.
* The team seem to be lasting the pace much better than earlier in the year and are finishing stronger.
* The experienced Ultan Harney playing more of a roving game is working out well.
* When players have given their all, their is confidence in our bench to do the business rather than leaving them on the pitch too long. For example, Eoin McCormack, Dylan Ruane, Ultan Harney and Diarmuid Murtagh were all taken off when they had emptied the tank having all played well.
Having had Dublin in our group for the last two years and St. Bridgets getting to the club all ireland final means the players are familiar with playing in Croke Park which should stand to them.

The support in Omagh was reasonable but not great. Hopefully the team will bring great support to Croke Park next Saturday for what should be a great double header. While the bookies don't rate us, I think we have the best chance in over forty years to make an All Ireland semi final. What an experience that would be!
I seriously believe we can cause another upset if we don't run out of steam playing for the third weekend in a row. The substitutes will have to do the business as they did last weekend to get us over the line.

We are going to do it!!!
I can't wait either.

Silly scheduling has to change next year. HQ should be doing all they can to have their last 8 matches as competitive as possible. Having four teams play three intense championships matches in 14 days against a rested opponent is ridiculous.

Traffic Advice for Saturday:
With 60,000+ expected to attend the double header on Saturday I would advise anyone travelling to be aware of the following and give yourself a little extra time.
* The match Roscommon v Armagh kicks off at 4.00pm. It might be a good idea to avoid town as some roads may be closed off earlier due to the pride parade on Saturday. I believe it starts in O'Connell Stree around 2.00pm and heads down towards Liberty Hall towards Merrion Square. Rossies coming from the southside of Dublin may be affected.
* For the last couple of weeks there has been roadworks at the canal bridge on Dorset Street. People coming down Bolton Street and even the North Circular Road might be impacted with some tailbacks. (Maybe they might have all lanes reopened at the bridge by Saturday?)
* The N4 might be a bit busier than usual with Galway fans, Tailor Swift fans and people going to the Longtitude Festival in Marley Park via the M50.
* If you decide to take the M50 (might be busy) and pay the toll, you have options of coming down the Navan Road towards town. It might be an idea to turn left at Phibsboro to avoid possible tailbacks at Dorset Street. Alternatively you could come come off the M50 at either Ballymun of Finglas. Do not go all the way to the M1 as you will meet all the Armagh traffic.
* Taking the train from Maynooth to Drumcondra would normally be a great option, but the train might be fairly full with people going to Taylor Swift and some Dublin GAA supporters.

Some people might disagree with my post, but at least THINK ABOUT YOUR POSSIBLE OPTIONS AND GIVE YOURSELF A LITTLE EXTRA TIME.

We need all the Rossies we can get at this game and we don't want any of you to miss any of the action. Please don't let this post stop you from travelling as you might miss an experience of a lifetime; Hopefully!!!

This has been some turn around over the past two weekends, but there has been snippets of it coming all season really. Davy and the magnificent (the only adjective to describe their 1st half v Tyrone in Healy Park) Rossies. I watched it in my apartment in Spain and had lost my voice by the end. Daire Cregg literally spun in the air without looking at the posts to take some of those points and was unmarkable. Everything should be done to keep him in the country (a la the intervention of Mickey Harte for Cathal McShane in 2021/2022).

But no more time to reflect - what can we come up with now to take us to an All-Ireland semi-final? The legs are going to start to go in the last quarter on Saturday. The two Dalys are phenomenal subs strength-wise to be bringing on, or should Ronan be starting? I'd like Niall to be on the pitch to finish out the game. Any reason why Cathal Heneghan shouldn't be launched? Is Ben 100% gone or are we all still just speculating? We are complete underdogs again which is great so all the pressure is on this Armagh team, which we absolutely have the beating of - we proved that we have the belief and skill and structure to pull off such feats in Healy Park last weekend.

Thanks a million LGG. The trains seem to be sold out since yesterday. Surely to God they'll put extra on.
