I think a win against Westmeath on Saturday would definitely leave Fermanagh in pole position to secure promotion to Division 2. pole position but getting there won't be easy though as Westmeath have been showing a daring streak in the goal area where Fermanagh has been weakest. I think it will be the toughest challenge so far. As macca would say it will be a HUGE game!!

Do we expect to see any players unavailable for the game? You're right it won't be an easy game, let's hope for a perfect performance from Fermanagh. For the young players, it would be fantastic to see them playing in Division 2. Itown1234 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 48 - 15/03/2023 13:31:52 2464034 Link 0 |
As an outsider looking in ,Macca is one who gives an honest opinions. Some have a chip because he might have mentioned a player from their club previously. Bringing up a comment about a goalie last year, as if it's a big agenda.

OMG we have an intruder giving his opinion of Fermanagh forum users. So a user from Cavan using some fool name thinks he is qualified to make assessments of our indigenous Fermanagh fans? Well that takes the biscuit given that macca999 causes such outcry at times from multiple fans. How many Fermanagh people go into a Cavan thread and criticise? I think it would be nil. ekn_teacher (Fermanagh) - Posts: 272 - 15/03/2023 16:49:17 2464088 Link 2 |
Thanks Foolsgold, you hit the nail on the head, thats all. You may be accused of being me now by some posters on here. macca999 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1142 - 15/03/2023 17:07:15 2464093 Link 0 |
Stick to the football or go back to the Cavan thread. Do you have any thoughts or opinions on Fermanagh this year? Itown1234 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 48 - 16/03/2023 09:29:07 2464131 Link 2 |
Well said!! Why do I get the feeling that KeshKFC and Foolsgold are in fact macca999 in disguise given his reputation as a multiuser poster?

I was wondering if Fermanagh fail in their aim for promotion would that be in fact better for the younger players as div 2 might be too challenging for them at this stage in their career? cillnaile. (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1006 - 16/03/2023 10:26:38 2464149 Link 0 |
Division 2 might be a push for the younger players. We won't know until they play at that level if they are ready or not. Itown1234 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 48 - 16/03/2023 11:06:29 2464162 Link 0 |

You been listening to the black eyed peas touch Big Toe Joe. Sadly work and life would prevent me being this so called multiposter ,don't have time for that but don't let truth stop a good conspiracy there. Good point ltown, would fancy that westmeath tea. Would survive in current division 2, debate on whether fermanagh would but will learn alot in next two weekends. True kesh,at last!! macca999 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1142 - 16/03/2023 15:57:25 2464251 Link 0 |
Anyway I'd be delighted to see us progress to div 2 a lot of football needed first and 3 points will secure it. If we have any ambitions to progress we need the challenges of div 2 football. I'm delighted to see that we have strength in depth and Donnelly leaves alot of experience on bench to bring on and that has really benefited us in how we finish out games. I remember we went up to div 2 a few years ago and the chat was all about where we'd get any points and we ended up one win short of promotion to div1. I say push and push hard … succeed great .. if not then learn and go again …. We were robbed in mullingar last year and owe this Westmeath team one big time ..!! macca, I read into your Westmeath/Fermanagh comment a sniff of the donkey's hind legs about to kick again with your doubts as to Fermanagh's ability to progress and retain themselves at a higher level of footie. My view is that it has been an encouraging season for the team and I have every confidence in Donnelly and his players as they won't give up without a fight.

Given that the rugby game is at 5pm, Carron's Corner Bar in Ederney (a few yards from today's Fermanagh v Westmeath game venue) I think would be a smarter choice. AuldGussie (Fermanagh) - Posts: 96 - 18/03/2023 12:51:04 2464458 Link 3 |
Jees I wouldn't have sent Westmeath visitors to sup pints in Ederney lol …. unless they were that shower between dugouts and score board .. shouting abuse and starting rows .. they included fathers of players and shouting abuse Leon carters and at fermanagh being worst team in ulster .. I heard Westmeath called 2nd best team in Leinster on Sunday game last weekend .. says a lot for Leinster football Anyway we dominated all but 5-10 mins letting them in for a well worked goal and a flukey goal .. our defensive shape won that match I think .. the goal leak continues though but defence take a bow otherwise KeshGFC (Fermanagh) - Posts: 339 - 18/03/2023 19:54:22 2464549 Link 0 |
Fermanagh certainly like to keep us on the edge these times, but another fantastic win for the squad. macca999 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1142 - 18/03/2023 20:44:19 2464578 Link 0 |
We could have been robbed of victory today with a vulnerable goaling setup but leaving that Donnelly's team are to be commended on today's performance. I'm not going to duplicate macca999's version but he made to no mention of our Gaels player Jonny Cassidy who put in a good workrate into the game and should be commended for his swift fast movement of the ball. Well do to all the guys. gaalltheway (Fermanagh) - Posts: 802 - 18/03/2023 21:52:02 2464621 Link 0 |
