Replying To The_Rat:  "I wasn't there but your view gives the impression that Donnelly's management isn't up to it and our players following short of your expectations. I think I'll wait for others to have their say.
If you are looking to take over you'll be awaiting a long. long time mate. You need to reflect on why you are sitting idle? Enough said!"
you werent there but dont let that stop you objecting to my comments. Seriously, all Im doing is giving an opinion on a match. Disagree all you want if you saw a match differently, but hold on YOU WERENT THERE

are you seriously saying that I believe Donnolly told them to go out and lose possession...go out there lads and miss 5 yard passes, go out there lads and miss lots of shots in the first half to fool them?
If Fermanagh senior football team turn to me to take them over then there would be a lot of serious questions to be asked. Ive never managed a county team at any level and never even managed an adult team. By the way I happen to think Donnolly is setting up the team well and our shape is good.
And now that several others have had their say are you not going to attack them too for having similar opinions as me

With the new club season not too far away is there a list of all the current club managers? Have there been many changes around the clubs since last season?

Firstly fantastic win for the hurlers yesterday against Mayo, again at the excellent facilities in Ederney.
Look forward to going there Sunday for the clashing Down.

That was the most impressive thing about footballers last game against Offaly, the stand in Tullamore is top class, so modern and clean puts many county grounds to shame.

Great result for Fermanagh today, there is no doubt the players seem to enjoy playing there, again club have excellent set-up and volunteers to help with parking/admission etc.

On the game itself, first half Fermanagh were very good, was and day from the Offaly game, moving the ball at speed, not running into contact and only one or two turnovers. Darragh McGurn was brilliant, with Quigley not on pitch he showed leadership and played at high level we know can for the full 70 minutes, some great fielding and shooting.

Second half expected a Down backlash though we had started half well enough but then gave them the momentum as keeper McNally was bottled up too far up pitch which led to a penalty when turned over and this ignited the Down challenge with another free coming from a similar situation as the game become a shoot out,a 6 point lead cut to 2 by our own play and looked ominous.

Ultan Kelm was excellent in the second half and kicked 2 fine scores at crucial times and gave a wonderful pass for Conor McGees goal while midfield dominated the kickouts. However especially in second half Down waltzed through our defence at will and easily could have had another goal or two which will be of concern to management, Conor McShea had been sweeping first half but second half far too open. Gilmore for Down looked razor sharp, im sure they will look back and wish had started him as initially in starting 15.

It was a very entertaining game, looked like Down had it, especially when at 2 points up and through on goal Garvan Jones effort for a goal was caught on line and Down broke got 3rd goal, lesser teams would have gave up but very impressed the team kept going and got the goal to claim a deserved win, after previous game would have been tough to lose after todays performance. Also showed lesson learned from Offaly match when kept possession for what felt like an eternity before the ref blew final whistle.

Great to see Lee Cullen on pitch again today, hopefully Che be back also for next weeks trip to face an Antrim team who have been racking up big scores.

Well done lads!

I think that Kieran Donnelly deserves huge credit. It's a young team. For a team that usually does not put up big scores we hit 11points in the 1st half against Longford and scored 2.14 against down. He is leaveing a few more bodies up front rather than everyman behind the ball which allows us the chance of a quick ball forward when we turn the ball over and and helps create more goal scoring opportunitys. He is making the team more attack minded, yes this may leave us more vulnerable at the back at times but in general think we will win more games than we will lose and the games as spectator more enjoyable. The amount of different scorers yesterday also makes us a harder to team to mark and majority of the scores came from open play. We also used the mark a few times to or benefit. My favourite score was 2 kicks Sean McNally kick out to mcgurn who claimed the mark and scored. Quick and direct no side passing.

Both teams will be sore after that game there was some heavy hits in it. I was not expecting a win to be honest against down, but i do believe we were the better team and should have won by more. Shame we did not play any way near like that against offaly cause we would have won and somewhere in the back of their minds the players would have been thinking of promotion to division 2. But there is still plenty of games to go yet before there is talk of were we will be playing next year. Nice to see them makeing the most of home a advantage.

I thought we would have had a man sent off before the end of the game, due to the number of yellow cards we had 7.

The reason I think we should have won by more 2/3 goals were preventable. Garvan Jones went for goal instead of taking his point which the keeper saved and they went up and scored a goal. It was at a time when down were coming more into the game and we did not need a goal at that moment in the game. Also Sean McNally got caught outfield with the ball. I don't blame either players as they are young and will learn from this.

I would like your options on this trend of modern goalkeepers joining in on open play. For me a keepers job is to prevent goals and not be creating scores. Does the rewards out weigh the risks. Seen other keepers get caught to monaghan Armagh Donegal.

Bring on Antrim and hope we come home happy.

Great character shown by the team yesterday.. reeled in by down .. momentum with down wind itch down .:. And most would have thought our chance was gone but as agree with macca that whatever Donnelly is doing to breed unity and character and belief it's working… serious efficiency infringement of goal again and great decision making.. great shift by Mcshea and are we finally seeing mcgurn do what we all knew he was capable of .. now we were seriously open at times to fast running down forwards but hell what a finish .. young Jones will be glad of win too given he had goal at his mercy and chipped in to keepers hands and 40seconds later ball was in our net.
And credit once again to Ederney the place was in great condition and very easy entry and exit
And here biggest credit goes to "ball boys" behind the down goalie at both ends .. timed delivery and accuracy of second balls perfectly lol

Brief note on todays game …. despite an error strewn patchy performance where the leak of goals continues the team showed unbelievable fighting spirit and belief right up to 75th minute and reminded me of the rossie game in 2015 almost .. plenty to work on but 3 wins from 4 and seeing out two tight matches in a row confirms character . 8 down at one point … good travelling support too helped .. goal leakage must stop though

Still not sure how we managed to win that game yesterday as looked beyond but what a comeback from the team! They never gave up and showed incredible character and belief for the second week in a row to win a titantic tussle.

First half Antrim were the better team aided by the breeze, though we had kept it within point always until let them in for a goal even with alot of bodies back there. Aiden Breen and Ultan Kelm were carrying the fight though slow moving of the ball was allowing Antrim to get their defensive block. Second half went bit more direct and moved ball faster with Sean Quigley being introduced.

After a good start to the second half we again allowed Antrim hit 2 quick fire goals as they ran through too easily, similar to last week in Ederney, so this will need addressed as cant keep conceding 3 goals and expect to win games.(Looking down the line Derry are razor sharp once in sight of goal they go for it)

Great to see the bench again making a positive impact with Garvan Jones, McGee, Ciaran Corrigan, and Quigley all making telling contributions. Ultan Kelm was terrific, his goal was excellent after super run and only for a top save by the Antrim keeper would have had another. The last 10 minutes was frantic but very encouraging to see this young team showing composure when game in melting pot and getting the win.
Both management and supporters were proud of the effort yesterday, team is giving 100% which is fantastic to see on pitch.
The Fermanagh support was brilliant on Saturday and certainly helped drive the team on and find the energy to push the press for the turnover for the winning score(McGee showed some exepreince taking the point when possible goal on,again learning from previous week)

Hopefully will have Che Cullen back next Sunday for Tipperary in Brewster to help shore up defence as it will be another tough game against a team fighting for every point.

Todays game was exactly what Fermanagh needed after the last two crazy games, a low key straight forward win which allowed management to give much needed game time to Che Cullen and Decky McCusker in second half.

Good to get clean sheet on the goal count, although McNally had to make two great saves(not sure how ref gave free in after he was clattered second half), so Tipp created few openings so still work to be done on that.

Impressive performances by Aidan Breen and Shane McGullion, Ultan Kelm continues to spark danger whenever gets on the ball, while Lee Cullen made some great interceptions and even managed a super point after a strong run.

However im sure management not be happy as was alot of unforced errors in possession, especially in second half became complacent while Tipperary were winning most the ball in middle sector throughout, against better teams, like Westmeath be punished clinically if repeated. Hopefully the result down in Tullamore doesnt prove costly.

The early switch of Ryan Lyons shows Donnelly isnt afraid to make tough calls, McGee showed more of a runner than natural scorer on his start today, Tommy McCaffrey showed potential but probably didnt receive the service his runs warranted, nice to see Diarmuid King take good score when introduced late on.

Huge game in 2 weeks against a confident Westmeath team in 2 weeks team after their demolition of Antrim today, hopefully Che Cullen and Darragh McGurn be both fit to start. Lets get a huge support into Brewster and get behind the lads!

So your praise continues to piled on for anyone wearing B'leck boots...why does that not surprise us?...while rarely is the same level of compliments paid to the net protector...anyway enough said about your tunnel vision. I think Fermanagh has improved during this league campaign but there is a lot to worry about too if we look at the Antrim and Down games where luck saved the day rather than a a full cohesive play which was evident again at times in yesterday's game with Tipp, a team not exactly graced with talent...I hope not, but I think the next games with Westmeath and Cavan will open up Fermanagh's shortcomings...let's hope that luck will come our way in the WMH game if promotion is possible this season. Although the Brewster Pk may be ready then, the team's luck path may be still best at the Ederney venue...just a thought.

Ive heard of selective hearing but seems selective reading is a thing. I must have missed Ultan Kelm,Breen and McGullions transfers to Belnaleck, they be strong favourites for the club championship now.

There is no doubt the toughest two games are ahead of Fermanagh and they will need to show a consistent performance for 70 minutes if want to get the desired results. The first 35 minutes v Down the best of campaign to date and need to produce this for full 70 minutes against a strong Westmeath team who will be arriving full of confidence after their demolition of Antrim. The obvious threat of Heslin im sure will be assigned to one of the Cullens,he is ably supported by O Loughlin, O Toole, Wallace and Baker.

Both Kieran Donnelly and Dessie Dolan spoke of the fixture being in Ederney so has been moved which will mean earlier throw in time of 3pm

Macca reminds me of my grandpa's donkey as when things were going good eating fresh carrots he was boastous but when the feeding was sub standard he would kick back with hind legs. Similarly, Macca is all praise for Fermanagh for now but if they lose badly in the next games he will lambast players as happened last season with his over-the-top criticism of goalkeeping which caused uproar on this forum. So his dismissive, if not arrogant, response to wired2themoon was unwarranted.

Brilliant cillnaile!! I was this morning thinking when I read your post of the donkey riding his tandem to Ederney for the game on Saturday!! Anyway what I came on about is it looks like I'll have to fork out 36 euros for my Mrs, my two U16 children and myself which is a bit of a tall order given that it's not even likely that we will get seats never mind shelter if it's raining. Ok there may be limited numbers allowed because of the small facility but charging 8 euros each for a children aged 5 and 7yrs old is a bit over the top, no wonder they are called Grab All Association!!

First of all, Kesh man get your facts correct. I do comment on football with plenty of evidence of that especially club football! However, if I wish to respond to a poster who makes an excellent comparison about views of another and in doing uses analogies of donkey or an ass to make his point, then that poster is entitled to do so!! Now that your are such a great GAA supporter, do you condone the charging of eight euros each to primary school aged children like my own?? which by the way you conveniently ignored in your response!!

Looking at the league table does a win over Westmeath guarantee Fermanagh's promotion to NFL Division 2. On a side note, I am glad to see the Westmeath game back in Ederney, it would never have been a smart idea to move the pitch when the team have found a winning streak in Ederney.
