Replying To jm25:  "The change in rules happy with removes point bringing up goalie unless rafferty or Morgan

No point for us to keep a mchugh or Kelly back to let either of our goalie go forward.

It prob cements gleeson as number 1"
Really??The rule changes were suiting Galway or didn't you notice.

Clifden is one of the prettiest towns in Ireland. What's your problem with Connemara? Most of the gaels in Connemara came originally from east of the Corrib, Maigh Seola, near Tuaim but unfortunately were driven west by the Normans and the English.

Thankfully Connacht rugby don't have the same parochial opinion as you in thinking only galway people should attend Dexcom.

Yes we have a bigger population because we actually have inward migration here. The likes of yourselves, the Polish and other wonderful foreigners come to Galway to learn, work and live. It's not like Mayo where everyone is a "Mayo4Sam" cabbage - we're quite diverse.

How in the name of God can you make a judgement on a young lad who has only played one game this season.Raftery and Morgan were not great when they started either.

Easily triggered I've seen him play enough, 10plus times in goal and 5/6 times in flesh as a 14. Fair to say he's not as good as rafferty or Morgan right now hardly controversial, there is plenty IC outfielders not as good on ball as them two

We are clunky using 12/11 and he got caught out badly Sunday running back with ball over top think it was Glynn who saved his bacon.

Hopefully he will improve but will do well to be Galway no1 this yr let alone put him in same league as best keepers

This is typical of any critique of goalkeepers. You see the one time they are maybe caught as I may say so has Ethan Rafferty but not the 100 things they do right. This is just not Conor Flaherty it is all keepers.

Your losing the run of yourself they are better goalies then we have currently out the field

Also I was mainly focusing on gleeson as he seems to be no1 but you've got in a twist defending Flaherty

Reducing the impact of goalies will affect Armagh Tyrone Monaghan more than us as their goalies are more influential outfielders than ours currently simple really

Cluxton the best keeper ever also will be suited by this as not as influential outfielder either it's not criticism of Flaherty specifically

Approx 7k Mayo fans went to NY last year yet not even 3k made the short trip to Hyde Park for the much more significant group stage game in June. Partial to a bandwagon perhaps?

Underage Fixtures Galway

Our team a manager just sent on the fixture list for u13 and u15 Football. To say i am in shock is a under statement. Our u13 will be finished football before they are finish national school. They have rammed all the fixtures into April and May and will be finished by mid June. Does anyone know who does these up. It madness.

They need League in April/May and start a championship for them when they return to school (Sept/Oct) Maybe other age groups, hurling , pitches, refs make this difficult but the current situation certainly needs to be locked at

Corofin likely to canter through Div 1 again especially with new manager. I thought MM struggled last year were lucky to avoid relegation.
Oughterard doing well to stay in Div 1 also. Lots of new managers in this division which always makes a difference.
Div 2
Killannin were competitive at div 1 the last few years & should still be here in Div 2. Same with annaghdown. Moycullen are interesting as this would be first year in a while that Eoin & Paul Kelly available for league. For relegation here no idea - Caherlistrane struggled badly in championship last year and doubt much changed over winter so might be them.
Div 3A
Aran were way under water in Div 2 last year - should be better equipped here.
The Jimmy's right away looking too good to be in 3A but missing possibly their 3 best players with Galway.
Corofin B usually do enough to stay afloat but could lose a lot of players to A.
Carraroe should be on a high after junior win.
Relegation here could be anyone.
3B id view them all on a similar enough level, v competitive. Spiddal the only team missing key players with Galway I think? But they probably have too much to struggle here.

Looking around and speaking to neighbouring clubs there seems to be some amount of drain of club footballers out of the county. We have lost 2-3 really good players in Claregalway and 10-12 in the last 2-3 years and I know our noisey neighbours in Annaghdown are down up to 15 players in the last two years. Caherlistrane are also well hit and Mountbellow/Moylough were disseminated last year and I can only imagine other clubs who have a smaller player base are struggling. Will this mean we could see as surprise winner of this years Frank Fox or Corofin who are an older more establish team still be favourites? What do folks think?
