Agree Clones is a magic place for Ulster finals. But like Semple Stadium it needs upgrading, and I'm not sure it's central enough for Ulster Council to put in the necessary money when other forms of revenue might not be forthcoming.

He likely wouldn't know much about Ulster finals being from Antrim but the atmosphere in Clones in Ulster final day is fantastic, the buzz in the packed town then the walk up the hill, you'd never get that in a place like Belfast. I hope they put some serious investment into Clones now. I'd also like to see Casement redeveloped for Antrim GAA but the big plans for a concert/tan ball venue etc are gone now and good riddance. I've been to several Ulster finals in Clones, trust me it's nothing compared to Thurles, Cork or Limerick for a Munster hurling final. Good that they can move the final around down there without listening to a bunch of divas crying about 'spiritual home' etc while obviously knowing little of the history of the Ulster final venue in the first place, let alone the great game of hurling.

It would fit you better to worry about the state of the GAA in your own county and ground than waffling here about Thurles Cork and Limerick in all fairness, The state Casement is in now is a disgrace to the man it's named after.

All that hurling talk getting a bit too alien for you, super chuck? A disgrace is right, but you backed the decisions to keep it a disgrace didn't you.

All credit to Ballycastle for their excellent hosting of today's senior hurling final in what were horrendous conditions. The surface was excellent and it is to both teams credit they served up an exciting and sporting contest. Those famous Ruairi Ogs were deserved winners but is is a shame that many players on view today have not played in their own County ground Glensboy (Antrim) - Posts: 309 - 20/10/2024 19:10:53 2576028 Link 1 |
