Cuala will face either Kilmacud Crokes or Na Fianna in the Dublin senior football championship final after seeing off Ballymun Kickhams by 0-16 to 1-8 at Parnell Park this evening.
Having edged a 0-7 to 0-6 lead at the break, the Dalkey men pulled away in the closing quarter to reach their club’s first SFC decider in 36 years.
Dublin star Con O’Callaghan led the way with 0-8 (7f) for the victors who found another gear down the home stretch.
The points of O’Callaghan, his brother Niall O’Callaghan and Luke Keating would help Cuala to open up a 0-13 to 0-8 lead with give minutes remaining and, despite Ballymun bagging an injury-time goal through Dean Robertson, the Dalkey outfit were able to see out the sweet win.
Tomorrow (Sunday) sees holders Kilmacud Crokes and Na Fianna battle it out for the other final spot in the capital, with throw-in at Parnell Park scheduled for 4pm.
