Kilmacud Crokes will play Na Fianna in the semi-finals of the Dublin senior football championship after seeing off Ballyboden St Endas after extra time last night.
It finished 1-17 to 0-13 at Parnell Park, where 1-4 from Galway star Shane Walsh proved instrumental for the holders who had led by three (0-8 to 0-5) at half-time in normal time.
‘Boden were able to close that gap in the second-half thanks to the scores of Colm Basquel and Daire Sweeney, with the latter’s hat-trick of points down the home stretch leaving the scoreline reading 0-13 to 0-13 come the full-time whistle.
Crokes would dominate in extra time as attackers Walsh and Mannion kept the scoreboard ticking over for them, and they’d lead by four ahead of Walsh netting the game’s only goal with the last kick.
