The Down SFC got underway last night with a big win for Mayobridge over Castlewellan.
Conleith O'Hare scored the only goal as Ronan Sexton's charges cruised to a 1-12 to 0-3 victory at a very wet Burren.
There are seven more SFC Round 1 ties taking place over the next few days. Downpatrick and Ballyholland face off in Bryansford this evening, while Glenn take on Carryduff in Castlewellan and champions Kilcoo begin their defence against Loughinisland in Liatroim tomorrow.
The Sunday games are: Longstone v Bredagh in Teconnaught; Bryansford v Saul in Downpatrick; and Burren v Liatroim in Clonduff. In the last of the first round ties, Cumann Pheadair Naofa meet Clonduff in Kilcoo on Monday evening.
