Eoin McGeehin grabbed the late winner as St Eunan’s dethroned Naomh Conaill with a 0-10 to 0-9 victory in last night’s Donegal senior football championship quarter-final at MacCumhaill Park.
Brendan Devenney’s men looked on course for the semi-finals after the opening half-hour in Ballybofey, where they led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break, but their Glenties counterparts rallied in the second-half to storm in front thanks to the points of Keelin McGill (2), Ciaran Thompson and John O’Malley.
Ciaran Moore levelled things up before McGeehin sent over this superb score (watch it below) for St Eunan’s to advance through to the last four.
Meanwhlle, the Tir Chonaill County's other senior quarter-final yesterday saw An Clochán Liath (Dungloe) making their goals county in a 2-8 to 0-13 victory over Glenswilly.
TweetNaomh Conaill, winners of the last two, four of the last five and having been in every final since 2017, are knocked out in Donegal thanks to Eoin McGeehin’s winning score for St Eunan’s - the only team to have beaten Naomh Conaill since 2019, now twice.
