And rightly so. Look at the fare and attendances to match. KK and Galway had 8000, you would have had 50000 in Ennis last Sunday if we could have accommodated it

You wouldn't fill anywhere if there was 80% chance of reaching quarter finals! Nor would the games be so intense. Kilkenny support probably rightly convinced their championship starts in semi final and never seen Galway at such low ebb. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3437 - 23/04/2025 22:12:26 2603942 Link 0 |
We need to improve our team. People will follow it then. Same as for Limerick and Clare and Waterford. I can remember Munster championship games in the 90s and 00s with only a few thousand supporters from all 3 of those counties. Even Tipp and Cork have had poor enough attendances when they were going badly. Hardly anyone from Tipp in Semple last year for the game against yourselves. Barely anyone following the 2016 Cork team either, there were barely a few thousand of them in Semple Stadium when we beat them in a 2nd round qualifier. At the end of the day for most counties if they have a period of relative success the supporters will come out and back their team. Problem for Kilkenny is that relative success means winning AIs. They must be the worst supported county in Ireland that way. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 15453 - 23/04/2025 22:43:40 2603955 Link 1 |
