Molly's passing at the age of 80 on August 7 marked the end of an era in the Milltown and Rathconrath area. The Doolin name is synonymous with Milltown GAA (the club's ground is named after her late husband Sean), and for many years Molly (nee Seery) took on the onerous task of washing the jerseys for the team.
Molly, who carried out the housekeeping duties for local priest Fr Fitzsimons for nearly three decades, married Sean in September 1962 and both were proud to see their only son Ned wear the green and white of Milltown for many years. It goes without saying that one of Molly's proudest days was in May 2008 when the redeveloped Milltown grounds were fittingly named Sean Doolin Memorial Park.
