John, who was in his mid-seventies, lived in Kiltoom, Co. Roscommon but was a native of Rosemount. He was actively involved with the club in his youth. He is survived by his wife Carmel, sons Leo and Jack, brother Willie Farrell and sisters Dora Susay and Mary Keane.
