William 'Willow' Masterson died suddenly at his Water Street, Castlepollard home on Sunday, June 26th, 2016. Willow was part of the four-man backroom team that delivered Ballycomoyle's only junior championship success to date in 1991. As well as being a selector, he was also the team's first major sponsor that year, through Dalgan Milk. Following Sundaymorning training each weekend, he made sure the players were in fine tune by giving them each a pint of milk. After quitting his management role, Willow always made himself available to help out in any way he could and remained a great supporter of the club.
