Mary Hynes (née Mulhere), St Teresa's, Millmount, Mullingar and formerly Portumna, County Galway passed away on Thursday, March 16th, 2017. The Hynes family has a strong association with Mullingar Shamrocks GAA Club and her son Sean was serving as underage secretary at the time of her death. Sean was, of course, a brilliant footballer and hurler. He lined out with the county at senior level in both codes and won Leinster Senior Colleges honours with St Marys CBS in the early '80s. Sean also represented Shamrocks and Oliver Plunkett's with distinction. There is a long tradition of Hynes family members lining out for the Shamrocks and this custom is continued by Mary's grandchildren Cormac, Sean Og, Peter and Eve.
