Ray Bradley, Castlelost West, Rochfortbridge, who passed away on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017, was on all four of St Brigid's Westmeath SHC winning teams in the late '60s and early '70s. A member of a great Rochfortbridge GAA family, he was involved in gaelic games all his life and was a very talented footballer and hurler. In 1967, he togged out at half forward on the St Mary's team that was beaten by St Finian's in the Westmeath SFC final, his late brother John was also on duty that day. Having won numerous underage championships with St Brigid's, Ray was a member of the side that captured their breakthrough Westmeath SHC crown in 1968. 

Again playing alongside John, he was wing back as Castletown - Geoghegan were beaten by 3-6 to 1-6 in the final. With brothers John and Vinny both on board, he anchored the Saint's defence for the historic three-in-a-row of SHCs in 1970, '71 and '72 as Castletown - Geoghegan, Raharney and Castlepollard were seen off in the deciders. An U21 HC winner in '69 and '70, he could claim to have been on the first and last St Brigid's teams to go all the way. Ray also represented Westmeath in football at minor and U21 levels and served St Mary's with distinction as an underage coach. His massive contribution to both football and hurling in the county will never be forgotten.
