Replying To LilywhiteGael:  "Ah thanks for saving me the price of a ticket for Sunday. Best let all the Kildare and Fermanagh people know. Just hand the cup to Wicklow on Sunday..."
I wouldn't agree with that bit about Wicklow winning. I obviously hope they do. I saw Wicklow v Limerick in the league. In my opinion, Wicklow were the better side but could t get the scores to put Limerick. Limerick got the point in the last few minutes to get the draw and promotion. Had we won, we would be in Div 3. I think we must be in the running for the leading wides tally in the competition. This one will be too tight to call. To me, Kildare are, or should be, the best team of the 4 and, if they can get over Fermanagh- no easy task, mind you, they should win it out. But nobody knows better than you, a Kildare supporter, that Kildare don't always deliver on their promise.

Replying To macca999:  "Yes sponger 30 euro ticket price wont entice many casual fans to Croker on Sunday, Stadium likely will be empty enough without that pricing being put on the tickets.

What was the attendance at last years TC Semis between Antrim v Laois and Down v Sligo?I always find an empty hill is actually harder to shoot into against visually.

In terms of Sundays attendance probably do well to reach the 12k mark this weekend at TC Semis in Croker think previous years been below 10,000 mark.
Kildare likely bring biggest support, 4-5k, Wicklow might travel well, while cant see Limerick bringing many given hurlers in croker day before!

In this situation think the GAA should offer 50 free tickets to every club juveniles teams in participating counties and possibly subsidise transport to help get possibly 3-4 thousand kids into the game, give them a day out and add bit more atmosphere to the day. Its a win win in terms of promotion of games, positive experience and engaging new supporters at young age which could benefit hugely in longterm. The bigger picture isnt always thought about."
Tickets for adults should be no more than €20 and as you say loads of complementaries for children.

10,348 in Croke Park for the TC Semi Finals last year but you'll only ever see close to that crowd in the last 5 minutes of the first game as damn all stayed for both games. Was €20 for the Quarters so it was always going to be an increase when you have the option of getting into two games. Tbh I don't think too many genuine fans of the counties involved would be too bothered about the extra tenner.

It's only my opinion that doesn't normally raise eyebrows here however its also my gut feeling.
Wicklow won it in 2008 AET. They reached the final again the following year but were pipped at the post. Obviously any of the other 3 counties think otherwise and that's fine by me.
In the meantime I believe it will be Wicklow's day.

Since 2008 & the TM Cup final tickets have almost quadrupled in price and selected match programmes have increased by approximately 450%.

Yes thinking would hardly have broken the 10k makr and be likley similar story on Sunday! True that most crowd from first game will leave shortly afterwards too.

Yes quarters last week were €20, which was pricey for most people, Fermanagh played Wexford few weeks ago in Croker along with Armagh v Dublin, a more appleaing double header with bgger corwd and tcikets were €25 so surely that increase would have sufficed??

Hardcore fans will go regardless,id pay whatever but its the new people that GAA need to engage with to attend games,so the pricing certainly wont get them off the fence and on roads to games! As say would cost GAA nothing to provide free tcikets for juveniles clubs in participating coutnies, fill those thousand of empty seats, add colur and atmosphere

And maybe get some "custoners" for the next 60 or 70 years!

Fair enough. Not disputing your right to an opinion supersub15, nor that your gut feeling could be right. Still a lot to play for before that may come to fruition.

Very little chat on the Tailteann Cup here. In the mean time I wish you well and enjoy your game.

SS

They don't care about the smaller counties.

Didn't get to see the two semi finals today, why was Kildare v Fermanagh so low scoring?

I waited for the first half. It was a slow cagey affair. I think it was 7-5 in favour of Kildare. It's hard to judge this Kildare side. They got away with just doing enough today. With I a think 3 weeks break, I wouldn't be surprised if Limerick beat them.

Brutal game, conditions didn't help, with a hard surface and downpours during the game. Slow buildups from Kildare allowed Fermanagh to get everyone behind the ball, Kildare looked like they were afraid to lose that wanted to win, the fact that anything lad whobplayed for only 20mins got mon says it all.
Limerick will fancy their chances and if they can keep it close Kildare will start to doubt themselves

Two of the largest populated counties in the country contest the teacup final, glad to see the 'weaker' sides benefitting. Lol

Great match between Wicklow and Limerick yesterday. I was absolutely shocked that Wicklow lost in the end especially when they looked like they were going to hammer Limerick with 50 mins gone. Limerick deserve a lot of credit for never giving up.

Wicklow are building a decent team so hopefully McConville for at least another year
