Replying To foreveryoung:  "Well learn to live with it, boy! The individual players themselves are fine. I'm a good fan of Fitzgibbon, for example, as I was of JBM, Johnny Crowley, Denies Coughlan, and of course the Rock (he was great to watch) back in the day. It's not the players per se, but rather the Corkness of the whole county. The attitude of their supporters and their unawareness that many others outside of Cork also dislike Cork. And their puzzlement when they are told that, and their finding it strange that someone actually dislikes the county.

I grew up in an era when it was okay to tell someone that you didn't agree with them or that you didn't even like them; none of this namby-pamby being nice, pseudo-nice, to people because of political correctness or that you might hurt their feelings. SO, learn to live with it, boy!

UP LIMERICK!"
I normally try to be humble, but that's your 5 and 7 in a row we have now stopped. Up the rebels!!!

Great win! We had great performances off the bench from Lehane, Kingston,O' Leary, O' Flynn, O' Connell and Rob Downey. Crazy way to win a Munster final but it was a terrific game from 2 outstanding teams. A month to prepare for a tough semifinal and congratulations to the team!

Replying To Pope_Benedict:  "Dreadful. Should be a lot of retrospective suspensions, after the recent Parnell Park 'review'."
For which players? Name the red card incidents

A poor standard though, riddled with mistakes. A fitting end to a poor enough Munster Championship."
Ah don't be embarrassing yourself

As the Celtic fans said back when, one in a row, one in a row.

Jack Nicklaus with Tony Jacklin at the Ryder Cup. If Jack was in goal for Cork, he wouldn't have even let Hannon or Murphy hit those wides, he'd have conceded.

Tut-tut! NY were never going for 5 or 7 in a row, but we have an AI after the year which we won last week, and we can beat Leitrim at football. Have Cork won an AI yet this year? Come back here when/if they manage it.

Replying To Cockney_Cat:  "Terrible way to end a final with penalties. There are two more finals tomorrow that could also be decided this way. There is no need for penalties after one game. Add an extra week to the schedule (next week) to allow for replays. This nonsense was copied from professional soccer. Soccer is completely different from the GAA. The soccer season is more congested, players have international games to play straight after the season and club finals end, or holidays to take before club tours start."
Just home now from the match,
congratulations to Cork. It meant a lot to their supporters after the last time we met.

I agree 100% with you regarding penalties. It's an abomination of a way to end a Munster final, the GAA's mad rush to run off the Championship is ridiculous.

It is stopped but we are still in championship.for me cork were the better team over the 95 plus minutes..limerick made Collins look good in 1st half instead of putting ball over the bar..
Cork had a few goal chances in first half.
Some brilliant defending from both sides and some shocking wides..it all led to a very exciting game..it wasn't perfect and that's what made it more exciting..
Thought cork got more from bench in extra time.
Huge thanks to our boys on leaving everything on the pitch this evening and the year isn't over yet.
Congrats to cork and my fear now is that ye just might dominate for a few years.

That's a terrible take tbh. Sure there were lots of mistakes but every game takes on a life of its own and it was tense and gripping and claustrophobic.
I would rather see that kind of game than easy scoring with no tackling
I also think the wind had a fair old impact and contributed to some of the poor shooting
Fair dues to Cork, I kept expecting Limerick to pull away in the second half especially after the goal but Cork hung in there
Bitterly disappointed we didnt win it in ET- I know Corks wide total might have been higher but we missed a lot in ET. Commentator said that Fitzgibbon had to score direct from the free at the end - was that true?
