Yes but Cork and Kerry wasa Provincial game. The final was brutal but the semi final was epic. One entralling game in Connaught and one enthralling game in Munster.

Hard to call the two finals coming up this weekend. Armagh haven't won Ulster for well over a decade and for Louth it is many decades. Louth obviously robbed in 2010.

What a game in Ulster, two great teams going at it here.

New rules seem to help but the 2 points from free kicks rule is harsh, 2 points from play surly but not frees , especially for the breach of player's back.

Another week and another good provincial final in front of a full house great to see and at a time HQ wants to get rid or these match like this pre-season contest like seriously?

Local rivalries are still going strong. Provincial finals are effectively standalone here on forward. No seeding difference next year if you win or lose the final.

Tyrone would beat the pick of Donegal and Armagh. Just saying : )

OK, joke ... great game; can't beat Clones for atmosphere. So many great memories

What's gas about it? Brilliant match, end to end. Two great teams. Fair play Armagh supporters magnanimous in defeat.
Full house in a sun drenched Clones hard to beat. The Ulster Football Championship is still the best football Province by a long way and long may it continue.

Brilliant Ulster final. Credit to the two teams, they left everything on the pitch. Easy see how a melee could break out after that with emotions high and losing by such small margins. Not great when ya have young lads then trying to throw flares into the middle of it. Despite the foul at the end which was probably a mix of fatigue and desperation, Ethan Rafferty had some game. Huge game from Murphy as well. In unbelievable condition and still has a massive impact. Another Paul Conroy.

Hopefully Louth and Meath will play out another ding dong today. Very hard to call. I think there's a lot of pressure on Louth to right the wrongs of 2010 and Meath will only relish being the villain. Not to mention the high they must be on after beating Dublin. I'd like to see Louth finally get their hands on a Leinster but I think Meath might just steal it.

A great game that was hard to call for long periods. Pity there had to be a loser. Although I'd say there could be a few suspensions coming Armaghs way after the incident at the end of the game.

Replying To Fionn:  "Jeez lad you are on a roll - fair play to you. Loving your interest in all things Dublin GAA.

But someone like your man moaning about yester year needs to let it go as the song goes.
What is won is won and what is lost is lost.

On last week - Meath fully deserved their win, they played great.
Dubs have only themselves to blame - we can reflect on retirees and 5 or 6 injuries, but the players on the pitch were simply not good enough. We move on. Simple.
I certainly wont be talking about that defeat next year or the year after...."

Leinster is a back. The only province that's a joke is the Munster championship.

Funny to see someone from Connacht saying this. Kerry and Cork better or on par with Galway, Roscommon and Mayo. While Clare, Limerick and Tipp are better than the rest.

Wish our lads hadnt of gotten involved. Whoever threw the punch will get a deserved ban but the rest was handbags.
The goading by the Donegal player after the whistle was unneeded. Both teams done it on occasion during the game. You do what you do during the game to get an edge, after the game you win with class and you show class when you lose. Individuals on each side let their side down, majority behaved well, shook hands and move on. At the same time the majority of us dont know what its like to be in those situations at such a level.

Fantastic game of football. Donegal much the better in the first half. 2nd half we will rue the 2 missed goals chances, mcmullans has to go in and big crealy unfortunate his hits the inside of the post, goes across the goal and just wont go in. Even conatys that lands against post early in first half. Fine margins.
Neither side will be far away in quest for the big one. Hopefully Rians return can give us an extra edge come the summer. Outside his brother Oisin, and when Rafferty comes up from goal, we badly miss another player to pick off the 2pointers and Rian is made for it.
All the best Donegal folks and congrats on your Ulster title, fine team.

Armagh andProud.
Very well written post and very classy.

A great game and toigh on the loser.I thought Armagh were slightly the better team but Donegal are dogfed fair play to them.Armagh had no luck. A really great spectacle and some wonderful performances on both sides like the great Michael Murphy and Ethan Rafferty.

A pity about the end of game shenanigans but I suppose emotions were high.I hate goading but all teams have players that do it sadlly.
Tough luck Armaghandproud but very gracious post.Class!

Funny how often it's been Armagh though! I mean it's not funny
