No!!! I want none of it to happen!!! Never want us to be bet!! Just want to be honest, and that's my honest opinion!!! If it was the other way I'd say it too!! Want wexford to be winning leinsters because we possibly could do it,but we would have to have absolutely everything go our way!!! Leinster hurling is terrible bar kilkenny who more often than not show up,but who are beatable!!!Outside of leinster we are a country mile off it!!!I absolutely would love to be talking about how good we are and I'd love to be talking about having a realistic chance of winning!!! That would be fantastic

Replying To tearintom:  "Blitzes for Atrim clubs.

If ye want to see the consideration the likes of Antrim are given remember that whilst their seniors warmed up in Wexfkrd for a 2pm throw in their minors were in Westmeath playing at 1 pm."
Those sort of clashes are happening all over the place with minor fixtures this year, and I think it's crazy that the Leinster fixtures-makers didn't put more thought into avoiding them.

Also last Saturday, Offaly minors were playing at home while their seniors were getting ready to play in Parnell Park.

This coming Saturday, our minors are at home while our seniors are away; Offaly minors are away while their seniors are at home; and Galway minors are away in one venue and their seniors are away in a different one. I don't know why some of those matches couldn't have been fixed for the Sunday instead.

But with regard to Antrim, how's this for the "consideration" they get? - their own County Board fixed about 12 of their own County Hurling League matches for Saturday afternoon, including some that directly clashed with their match against us in Wexford Park at 2 p.m., such that lads involved in those club matches in Antrim couldn't even listen to the match on the radio or follow it on Twitter. I don't think they can complain about lack of consideration by Leinster GAA if they give it that little consideration themselves.

Its a big game so expect a big Dublin crowd I say. They got a taste last Saturday, it will bring more out.

One of the coaches in my club was telling me about parents complaining to him last Summer about why their boy was not getting game time. He asked them had they ever stayed around for a training session (knew full well the answer). The answer was "Oh no, I wouldn't be any good at that" to which he replied "are you not able to put a few fng cones down or get balls from behind a goal"? Silence.
The conversation then went on to "oh but he tries his hardest in training". The coach agreed that he tries hard, but he replied "does he practice between training sessions" to which the response was "Not really, he tends to be tired after the sessions". The coach replied "well the children tend to be all tired after the sessions but not for 2 days and the ones making the most progress here are the ones who practice every day".
They left it at that. Tail between the legs.
The point is, some parents want everything done for them, with the least effort, and effort is viewed as "I have to do something?".
Lots of people in Wexford complain about structures this, structures that. And there are places for improvement. They have been done to death and some are debatable, some are stupid and some are sure try it and see. But the #1 #1 area for improvement is unquestionably in the garden and against the side of the house. The GAA club can put up hurling walls in every club in the country but what is wrong with the side of the garage?
Hurlers are made in the garden, developed in the clubs and schools and county squads are finishing school. I think that is the Kilkenny way.

I thought €25 was a bit pricey for Wexford v Antrim to be frank. I asked my young lads if they wanted to go and they were indifferent. One's response was "Will we be home for the Villa game" which I feel says it all.
I was happy enough to keep €40 + the inevitable trip to Sharky's in my pocket.
Plus lads, 2pm on a Saturday why not play it at 7 in the evening. I know Antrim would be back late but so what, most of them probably make a weekend of it.

Replying To Past hurler:  "Lads does Chin have a day job or is he basically a professional full time hurler?

I remember an article back in 2018 saying he quit his day job as a barber and was at the hurling full time to get the best out of himself."
He has been on South East Radio a few times I hear him? I think he is a rep for some construction company or that.

Would rather play Kilkenny on the last day every year tbh rather than Dublin or Galway.

Replying To Tox73:  "I have heard that been said quite a bit in last 5 Years, Wexford have better players than Dublin??? That I find harsh, we haven't beaten them since 2018, There is the crux of the matter. We don't have better players over all. If we had we would have won the last 3 games similar to KK. Do Wexford senior players have this sense of superiority over Dublin? How? I seen nothing in last 4 years to say Wx are better than Dublin, I am sure the Dubs use it as motivation or maybe not, Wexford aren't exactly Top tier at moment and this ludicrous thinking. We take Chin/Rory out we in Joe McDonagh full stop. We need to wake up. Minor/U21 won't get far."
U20s beat Dublin in Parnell Park last time out? Minors have only played one game?

Replying To Magpie2:  "I think the attitude of many supporters is " Ah sure we'll wait until we play the better teams
If we can't beat Antrim we are going nowhere"
Saturday afternoon at 2.00pm and having to fork out €25.00 were other factors.
If we are motoring well and we win our next game then the support will greatly increase for our remaining home games.
Sad to say but we simply can't rival the Munster teams when it comes to support on a regular basis.
Of course Wexford Park will be full to the brim when we play Kilkenny if we are still in contention at that time.
When it comes to championship teams like Cork, Limerick, Clare and Tipperary will more often than not will bring massive support home or away.
Unfortunately we will never match them, except when we get to a leinster final against the Cats."
Hardly any Tipp supporters were in Thurles ladt year when Clare visited. Waterford haven't had much of a following lately either. Face it lads it's only when a county is having a bit of success that the supporters come out, and that's for both Munster and Leinster.

Replying To Afinestick96:  "I'd agree the notion that we have brilliant supporters is a myth . We have max 5k who will go to to league games and championship games like Antrim or Carlow etc. Then if we reach a Leinster final or all Ireland semi we have at least 40k supporters all of a sudden . I hope to see a big Wexford following in Parnell park on Saturday"
There will be the usual few of us, plus some expats living up in the Pale.

Replying To ElGranSenor:  "Would say there were 4k-4.5k from Wexford in Wexford Park the last day and I'd imagine it could be a similar enough number in Parnell Park

Would've thought Offaly have a decent enough following these days and yet their match against Dublin had fewer than 6k at it

Also, I think a lot of people in Wexford like hurling but I'm not sure that many love hurling, hence the bandwagoning"
Alot of Offaly lads just followed that team that won the u20 AI. Attendances at Offaly Senior games are still pretty poor. When they start winning they will get more.
I think there's absolutely zero chance there will be 4k Wexford supporters in the Nell. There's only 7000 odd capacity there.

Replying To Doylerwex:  "Agreed.

I think changing the clandestine had a huge impact to be honest. I'd know a good few casual supporters that don't realise the championship has started.

We love the day out in croke Park but the support for Antrim, Carlow Westmeath games etc. Is an embarrassment at times."
Think only around 2k of us were in the Park to see Westmeath stage one of the great comebacks in Championship history.

Replying To Magpie2:  "I fully agree. Mcguckin is whole hearted and really gives it everything but he is not a forward, full stop.
We badly need lads that can score. Kevin and Cian rattled the net last Saturday but will they get those chances against better opposition.
I think Jack Redmond is needed to replace Jacko.
We simply can't hope that Chin will do the business every day. I will bet my house on Dublin will have 2 marking him so it's unlikely he will be as effective as against the safrons."
If Dublin have 2 marking him we need to use our spare man.

That's true viking but in the past Mac was double marked but we simply didn't take advantage of the spare man.
Hopefully Saturday will be different. We really need all the front six to be firing on all cylinders.
Fading out for periods in the game could be costly.
We have failed in recent years to get over the line against the Dubs. Small margins yes so from a wexford point of view let's hope history doesn't repeat itself once again.

See conflicting information saying Parnell Park holds only 7000 and also 8500. Either way it should be a sell out. Hopefully we get at least half of the crowd it should be a great atmosphere Saturday
