And allowing Biden to leave with dignity is hardly something that Trump would care much for.

While I think he's right, I'd caution against believing the predictions of a bookies who went bust!

It's a forgone conclusion because the Irish electorate for the most part don't understand how to vote. "Who are you voting for?" " They're all the same. This government has done nothing" "So who are you voting for?" "James Brown (FF) he sorted out the pothole where me mother fell and hurt herself" That's an actual conversation I had with somebody who works on financial services..... I'm actually not anti trump or Pro Trump but you're right. That doesn't seem like his character.

Neither of them have left/will leave with any dignity, and that's aside from the both needing to wear nappies

No need to be a corporate lawyer to know about the Brehon Laws, I assumed every Irish boy and girl was taught that in school.

Ireland does need a credible alternative to FFG but I'm afraid that won't come in the form of SF. A warning for any party thinking of selling their souls to FFG. Labour and the Greens did it and paid the price. At least the Greens got a lot of their policies through but they still propped up a government who have failed on the key issues. Labour should have remained in opposition in 2011. Let FFG have another five years together. Rolo2010 (Donegal) - Posts: 746 - 28/11/2024 17:10:13 2581623 Link 0 |
1920 - 1948 the entire region was known as Palestine. On may 14th 1948 David Ben - Gurion the head of the Jewish Agency proclaimed the establishment of the state of Israel. U.S President Harry Truman recognized the new nation on the same day. Israel, know they have the continued support of the U.S since Harry S Trueman was the very first states man to recognize the state of Israel. Why are they surrounded by enemies.? Why do they not trust anyone.? Why would they not trust the Americans.? Since the end of WW 2 the U.S have reminded Israel that they have their support if and when they need it, so why would they not trust them. Benjamin Netanyahu is guilty of crimes against humanity, against men, women and innocent children. It is in fact a war mostly against civilians. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3074 - 28/11/2024 17:19:25 2581625 Link 5 |
Going by what is being reported, turn out in election looks like it won't make50 per cent..if that is so I really hope people don't complain about what government we end up with..I'll be honest and say I didn't vote for the government parties,I voted for change..also a low turn out seems to suit the main parties.. As long as FF/FG have decided to cosy up together there can never be a change in government for eternity…. Imagine that in the past when they despised each other….They can impose whatever on the people but will always be in power…. SF are the most popular party but that means nothing …

I'm in my sixties now and have never missed an election local European or general since I registered at eighteen I have three grown up children in there twenties who have never voted or even registered to vote despite my many pleading to do so and the same applies to their friends because they have zero interest or so they say all with well paying jobs and don't even bother to look at the news but will laugh at the idea that FFFG are in government love SF but couldn't be arsed to register to vote

Sinn Féin agree with FF and FG on all the fundamentals of how this country - both parts are run. Like all rival parties they disagree over social welfare rates, marginal taxation, personalities and opposition will always claim to be better at providing more houses/jobs/hospital beds/Gardaí/teachers. Then when in power - as SF have been in north (don't even go there ....) they spend most of their time making excuses why they didn't do all the things they promised - Irish unity/houses/jobs and so on and so forth. Will be same if and when SF are in government in 26. No excuse for not exercising your democratic vote but you can see why many, almost most sadly, do not. Anyone who doesn't vote to show anti or pro government/ party/candidate stance has zero credibility for me. I don't share the views of some 'far' right candidates but they're entitled to their opinions and at least they're not sitting anonymously on a fence on YouTube, X or Facebook. It's a democracy and the near left will continue with the wokey cokey for the time being. Hopefully they can look after those less fortunate and not those they targeted to get them enough votes to get to Kildare Street. Fair play to any candidate, have to be in it to win it. No polling booths on social media.
