St. Pat's were very good. Powerful outfit and played some lovely flowing football. Their goals were excellent.

Yes very disappointing. St Pats looked so much more physical and conditioned but were the better team by a country mile. No complaints. Colmans can hold their head up though. Much better Colmans teams in the past on failed to reach a Connacht final never mind an all Ireland final.

That comment makes no sence - "Much better Colmans teams in the past on failed to reach a Connacht final never mind an all Ireland final". Just kicking a bunch of young lads who achieved an awful lot and were outmatched on the day.
Comment is just nonsense.

Replying To yew_tree:  "I think it's a very long shot we get relegated. The main issue for me is what to do in the Donegal game? I know even a win, other results have to fall out way but do we really want to get to a league final? Thing is I'm not sure Donegal do either….could be a B v B game in Castlebar."
We have no choice but to go and give it everything and get the win. I think it's a case of go to the final or get relegated. Tyrone will be going all out to beat Dublin because a loss guarantees relegation. Armagh I expect to beat an already relegated Derry that will have nothing to play for except championship practice. I also expect Kerry to beat Galway because they won't want to go down. So for me it's either the final this year or play in division 2 next year. It's been a crazy year so far so why should it change now. Donegal avoid an unnecessary final with a loss so Mayo and Kerry in the National League Final.

Not kicking them I don't think Tirawley. I think the occassion got to them a bit. Was at the match yesterday, left side of Lower Hogan for Colmans and Athenry suporters was a lovely sight, and the Colmans 'ultras' near the pitch. Not sure how the people behind them got to see much of the game. Maghera had a pile of wides but never panicked, stuck to the game plan. But their defence was very composed and barely gave Colmans a sniff of the posts in the first half. Even in the second half Colmans were too tentative. When they let the handbrake off they createda few openings. A brilliant save for a certain Colmans goal. As Yew said they were a bigger stronger team than Colmans but their skills and decision making was far better. No shame in losing to them, 6 time winners, but Colmans won't be too happy with their performance.

I think Dublin will beat Tyrone which will confirm our safety either way. Also wouldn't rule out Galway or Derry winning tbh.

We're 66/1 with the bookies to be relegated which tells the story.

Mayo have a great chance of being in a league final too.

How nonsense? Colmans deserve every bit of praise for getting to the final. I'm a former student and was hoping they would do it. However and it's been talk around the area that very good teams perhaps even better than this current one have failed to get this far in the past.

66/1 that could be worth 10 euros

That's what I've been saying. Kerry and Mayo could contest the final or one of the two them could get relegated. Crazy year

Mayo 1-15 Roscommon 0-13 full time in the Connacht u20 championship. Mayo should have been home and hosed but for some woeful kicking (13 wides). Totally dominated the game. Hugh O Loughlain looks a baller.

The new rules could suit us better because any team can tack on seven or eight points in a short spell. We won't be let try and sit on a lead and try and play keep ball until the final whistle, we're forced to keep attacking. Very early days and can't judge any team yet but there's definite improvement on the early rounds of the league. No point in putting Kerry on a pedestal before next Sunday. If we've aspirations to go far into this season we need to be confident facing any team.

Yesterday we had numerous chances to kick scores but chose to cycle the ball back out only to lose in going back in. We need to take our scores when the opportunity presents itself.

Nice win last night in Tuam. That should see us into the Connacht final. A fine kick by young Beirne off the bench to win it. Fortunate penalty maybe, player was facing away from goal and it was more clumsy by the defender. Galway did get a free against McMonagle which was an excellent tackle. Costello looks a player for Galway.

Overall though, two fine teams. Will prob lay meet again once of not twice.

Poor from Mayo. Conceding that against a division 3 team. Unable to hammer a team when 7 or 8 in front. Always give them a chance .

Sligo should have beaten Galway last year..Galway very lucky to get the win. Sligo aren't bad…show some respect. Good win for Mayo. We aren't at the top table at this present time. If we win Connacht we be doing very well.

Show some respect? We were winning comfortably at different stages and let them back into it. Sligo are in Division 3. Dress it up whatever way you want.

We didn't win comfortably though, showed a lot of complacency. Doesn't matter what Division Sligo were in, the league is over Did Sligo have three coaches shouting at players from the sideline like parents at an underage match? How confident can players be when their management have to roar in-game instructions to them in every game? Mulligan shouting to be heard. Rochford, in fairness, has confidence in his ability doesn't need to shout too much to get his message accross. Less than 10K yesterday they were all you could hear for spells of the first half. And then McStay complains about having a 5 week run of games, in a league that no-one wanted to reach the final in and some teams weren't trying too hard. They brought on a young lad, in Jordan Flynn's jersey, in the second half that looked like a Junior Cert. He didn't show much aggression for sub into a team in a game that wasn't won at that stage. But Sharoize was left on the bench, again! They're not exploiting the new rules nearly enough. Standing like sjmheep near the arc and one man breaking the line can get in for a goal. Too many goal chances given up this year. Paddy Durcan was on the pitch during the warmup but he's not gonna dramatically improve that defence. Best thing we can say about yesterday is that, even with plenty of mistakes on both sides, it was a good game contest. Sligo gave us a right good test and the best of luck of them for the rest of the season.
