It's more than a numbers game you need quality is well.. however the fact is only for a recent dip into the transfer market the united parishes wouldn't have won the last 2 county titles despite all their numbers…..

It's definitely not just a numbers game, look at the spread of different winners before the two Hughes brothers and then Rory Beggan came along.. the pair of lads are just a different level in terms of physicality and skill than everyone else in the county - only McManus who's a generational talent and a physical specimen himself really challenged them for about 10 years there but now they're starting to slow down Ballybay managed to pip them.

I can see Scotstown falling back into the pack over the next few years when the boys inevitably walk away.

Again if it was just numbers and parish size then a few of their near neighbours would be competing too, but there's just too many poorly run clubs around them to challenge them for now.

Any word on the outcome of Blayney v clones? Rumours abound that both teams are being disqualified and harps advance to final

I believe Monaghan would be one of the few counties able to follow this due to the size. It's a bye law which is generally used for U18s... it's not a general GAA rule.

You would advocate for a the Hughes brothers to be brought up to Threemilehouse when they were children, with no attachment there and Kilmore training grounds 3 minutes drive away and them attending school in Urbeshanny in Scotstown. You believe they should have played for Seans?

You are that bitter thats what you want..

Clones v Blayney result is irrelevant anyway. Be as well
Letting harps through to final as neither team will
Go any further. May as well not bother with championship game either sure. Enough people talking out their backsides so no point having games

Hard to believe for the senior league and intermediate 1/4 finals that no linesmen were on duty… if they had of been the incident in Blaney game wouldn't have happened as no way would clones water boy have been allowed to stand where he was all game….

Games won minus county players are awarded 2 points and those games won with county players on board are awarded 3. It's similar to the star system we had in adult leagues a few years ago.

I would disagree with u here, they've some serious quality with Darren's brother currently injured and James mealiff coming back into things with a few younger lads on the 20s etc
If they could somehow make league final when the board make a decision I don't see y they couldn't beat harps/Killany Carrick harps etc

All good and well saying this but the proof is in the pudding. Darren scored 8 points out of 9 in the first half . Some of these so called 20s would want to knuckle down and get to it. Very soft team in my opinion like most "towny" teams. If they were to get near a league final it would be an absolute miracle.

Username is scarnaman I'm guessing you're a Emyvale man maybe Emyvale would to want "knuckle down and get to it" instead of players leaving each week then making up , typical junior club

I have to agree with Scarna man here as I heard killeevan had a challenge game vs clones both to there full strength and killeevan won well what shows you is going on in the clones camp

The proof is there but clones have darren and will do all year so I wouldn't say them making a league final with him is a miracle also I went to the game and some great young talents stepped up mc farland around the middle young clerkin….
However the likes of beggan and dowd around the middle I just didn't see enough of these lads considering their qualities and what they shown in junior a few years ago it's in them therefore clones I would call them a dark horse
Mc elvaney freeman finty all out injured also

I see clones alot like ourselves we have a lot of men injured I think if we'd a full team burns tierney etc to help out Lorcan we'd be pushing the top ends of intermediate no doubt

Replying To ginelli:  "Big result for eire og today in aghabog. Is it going to be another year of underachieving for aghabog? They seem to get built up every year only to fall down when it comes down to the crunch..... is this year going to be the same? They got outplayed today by a an eire og side who didn't really seem to be firing on all cylinders.

Also Scotstown beating blackhill today? 5 th and 6 th make it to the semis, does

that say anything about the junior league?"
Sound about right there, aghabog didn't get going when push came to shove…
It was only 3 years ago they where bottom of junior winless though
AS a killevan man what they've achieved in numbers and quality in the last 3-4 years and Abit of hunger Aghabog no doubt will be there abouts at the business end this year and I can't see them staying in junior any longer

Only a kick of the ball away last year and a horrendous mistake leading to a goal from intermediate.

I don't see where u get the 'seem to get built every year'
3 years ago winless 2 years ago beaten in a league semi last year champo semi and league final.
As a rival I think we need to cut them some slack also as I see the progress in that young team
