Dubs have 16 new players on the panel, inc Eoghan O'Donnell and James Madden
Davy Byrne is back also.

A Development Squad also running in the background.

And of course some new lads from Cuala to come in also.

Replying To WanPintWin:  "I actually thought Peter Harte deserved it to be honest, but a losing player never seems to get it. He was absolutely outstanding and dragged his team back into it almost singlehandedly. Even just prior to what looked like a very harsh red at the end, he set up a goal chance to level the game, when he must have out on his feet.
From the Cuala side I would have given it to Con. While a lot of the Cuala lads faded in the 2nd half, he kept showing and gave them an outlet when the pressure was on, even if he wasn't as prominent as earlier.
What a player he his. It's just a shame we never to see him in with the Dublin senior hurlers. I wonder if we'll ever see it."
He was excellent but a harsh red , cmon now. He lost the plot and just digged him

James Madden is a very interesting one
Only saw him at underage but looked like a talented footballer.

Obviously an impressive athlete, let's see how the professionsl setup down under has helped his strength and conditioning, hoping to see him feature

Looking forward to this league campaign ahead

Great to see a whole new crop of players looking to try and establish themselves.

Dubs are in transition but that's to be supported and Dessie recongnises it, quoted as saying he'll be bringing in 16 new lads, then you've tHe Cuala lads to come back in a few weeks maybe..

A league final will be a big ask, hopefully we get the wins, and stay competitive enough to comfortably stay up

Tickets sorted for the Mayo game, looks to be a decent crowd, the worst of the storm will have passed.

Safe travels to the Mayo support, and it's great to be heading back into Croke Park to support the start of a new Dublin team.

Might go for some nice stand seats instead of 4 hours on Hill..

Getting windy out now. Hopefully it passes over without too much damage.

Interesting listening to Niall O'Ceallachain's interview.
He has looked a refreshing the Dublin Senior Hurling Panel and has brought in 17 new players into it.

Both the Dublin Footballers and Dublin Hurlers could have a new look to them this year...

Looking forward to tomorrow in Croker to see what teams are put out and how they perform.

Delighted to see Chris Crummey become the new Dublin Senior Hurling captain.
Leads by example in every game.
Conor Burke has been confirmed as vice-captain.

No word yet on the new Dublin Senior Football captain.

Jersey is an abomination! Like a third division French soccer thing. Are they selling that to punters??

Good win

26,000 wasn't bad considering

I'm a bit long in the tooth, going to take me a while to get my head around these new rules, I think a couple of them have merit

I think the new Jersey went hand in hand with watching two teams trying to play new rules

Both a bit jarring

Without keeping a record I think there were 4 infringements(between Galway/Armagh and Dublin/Mayo) of the 3 back rule and no infringements of the three up rule!
I like the tap 'n go, hooter also.
The Dublin/Mayo game was a good open match, as is usual between these two teams, with 31 scores from play. However Galway and Armagh managed, in spite of the new rules, to serve up something very like their dour All Ireland final last July.

Living Legend is some beast back for another year.

Great for standards and setting the tone for the younger crew and new generation coming through.

Jack and Paul stepping away again.

That's it. Managers will cut their suit to measure. What will or ought to eliminate some of the negativity is the hooter as be difficult to act the maggot to slow things down if you have no idea what might be added on. Refs now have option to decide not to add anything if some lad is doing the Dying Swan.

Only my opinion

But given what we know of SC, it wouldn't be at all surprising if that's exactly why he wants to stay on, maybe after a sit down with Dessie and he wants to be there to help this transition.

I don't think we'll ever see Jack again, what a player.

Paul Mannion, might give it another go, he's a big loss.

Yes Jim, Jack is a fully qualified paediatric doctor now at CHI. He is maxed out.

Some fella.

A pleasure to support over the years and now he's off to probably perform one of the most important jobs in the world.

Again, some fella.

Met him a couple of times and was lucky yo have a brief chat, met other doctors over the years, they have a different perspective on life.

It's why you'd see Jack with a smile on his face during the team parade.

He knows well what suffering is, this knowing makes you appreciate and savour the good things.
