Well that was a tough one to take - totally outclassed - men against boys, Congrats to the Cats. We needed a good start and got the exact opposite.... Good crowd of loyal Dublin supporters on the Hill thankfully, but that performance was our worst of the year. Gonna be very difficult to get it right for the next game imo, after that hammering.... So many errors, and gave Kilkenny the freedom of Croke Park at times. Didnt even let them know we were there. That performance was so disappointing. The joys of being a Dublin Hurling support eh.. ;o) Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3962 - 08/06/2024 21:28:16 2550237 Link 1 |
There is no joy in anything connected to Dublin hurling.. Total disaster.

Back to football next Sunday , should be a 20 point plus win pulling up, Mayo only a shadow of previous years and a few of their best players out injured. jacktheboy (Donegal) - Posts: 447 - 09/06/2024 09:25:26 2550272 Link 0 |

How many times was I tempted to get up and leave during that match. Deeply depressing.

A bad day for Dublin hurling no doubt but the main thing now is to get themselves right for the quarter final and regardless of the result put in a big performance. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3842 - 09/06/2024 15:59:34 2550345 Link 0 |
I forced myself to stay until the final whistle - and believe me that was difficult... ;o(

It should be a big game, given that it does have consequences, but no buzz at all. Probably going but wouldn't bother me not to. Which is sad. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3073 - 13/06/2024 22:54:39 2551310 Link 0 |
Best game so far, great atmosphere, great travelling support and great nail biting finish. Mayo brought huge intensity. They destroyed us down our left side in both halves, O'Shea caused havoc in the first and we were off the pace, lucky to go in one up. We need more aggression as well, slow to put the shoulder in not laying a glove on fellas slicing us down the middle. A bit more no nonsense defending required. I think we left too much quality on the bench, Jack and Paul in particular. Jack won that game for us. That tackle on the end line was top drawer, his point and his drive and pass to Costello for the equaliser. Some cameo. We can't afford to leave him on the bench for what's to come. Same with Mannion. The mission was to avoid the prelims and we did it. Not at our best by a long shot but to not lose was very important. First test of the Summer and we passed. Dublin needed a tough test before the 1/4 final. And we got it. 10 different scorers which was a good spread. Cian and Lee are being missed at the back imo, and as you say Jamesie, Jack & Paul need to be starting. But it was all about getting minutes into all the legs and we have done that to a large extent. Need to sharpen up for sure and bring a lot more intensity, but that equalising point at the end was top drawer. 2 weeks to work on things and ramp it up even more. The business end starts now. Looking like kerry will make the final and they have no injuries as of yet. They look the more impressive at the moment. Team I would like to avoid is Armagh actually - that would be a dog fight. Either way, I reckon we will have to meet 1 if not 2 UIlster teams if we are to progress. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3962 - 17/06/2024 18:18:10 2552478 Link 0 |

Lads stay around and shout loudly for Wexford. Clare shafted us in the vote meaning we will have less support all the while we give their kids a wonderful weekend in Wexford for thr Feile. WEXILE (Wexford) - Posts: 311 - 19/06/2024 10:46:32 2552931 Link 0 |
Certainly will if not already ensconced in Kennedy's nursing our sorrows over pints of porter! I fear for ourselves, Wexford a better chance. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3073 - 19/06/2024 11:34:06 2552947 Link 0 |
