Huge game for the hurlers in Wexford on Sunday. Winner will make a big step to taking one of the qualifying spots. Loser will be fighting it out with Antrim and Carlow.
News from camp is not good regarding availability so difficult to be optimistic despite a good record against Wexford the last few years. Dublin haven't played well since the Galway match last year.

Its Sunday week Barney. We have only beaten you once in 15 odd years in championship. Noone down here is over confident.

Replying To Fionn: "COR is ready for the showdown on Sunday.
Should be interesting and hopefully a good game of football.
Dessie and the team need big improvements from our league final display v Derry. Hopefully we put in a much better performance and some of our missing players are back.
Haven't heard if Fento was successful in his appeal of the red card.
https://www.rte.ie/sport/football/2024/0407/1442194-orourke-enough-barking-more-bite-needed-against-dubs/" How are you Fionn
Hoping for a far better defensive performance compared to last week
Put that right and Meath will be in for a long day of it
Dub forwards are well ahead of that Meath back line

One hell of a 2nd half squeeze
Hugely dominant
Better defensive display compared to last day, good strength in depth this year, a lot of competition for places.
Nothing will be learned today, but a very solid win and an excellent 2nd half display.

Happy with the result but we only won 10 out of 18 kick outs and had 10 wides today. We had 17 scores from play but lost the ball in turnovers 18 times. We missed 2 easy frees and Meath had more possession than us.
So, still a hell of a lot to improve on.
Great to see Jamesie, Mick Fitz and Clucko back.
Mannion is some player also. 1-06 today.
We had 10 different scorers but some of our passing and play was sloppy. But the conditions were not great for either team. Both managements teams were correct to change their goalies from the last day imo.
I thought it would have been a lot closer tbh but hopefully we will be ready come the group stages and beyond.
And at least Fento had a rest day for once.
Roll on 2 weeks time v Offaly….

Have to say I have been very impressed with Lahiff in Midfield this year. Very powerful and improving all the time. Also, Murch is some player.
On the returnees, Mick Fitz was excellent yesterday. Fitted back in seamlessly. To have him, Jamesie, & Clucko back is such a boost. Experience and composure.
And a word on J.Small - 2pts yesterday I think it was. He is a top player, and very under-rated by many imo. Will never get the plaudits because of his abrasive nature on the pitch, but many counties would love to have him on their team.

Are you travelling down for it? As one of the most pivotal games in the Leinster Round Robin I'm amazed it's not even available on GAAGO.

Not sure what has gone wrong tbh, but not expecting much from us in the Championship unfortunately.
We have regressed so much since Daly was in charge.

Not at all optimistic nor are any others I know. It's huge game. Winner be well set for at least a playoff place. Loser will have to beat Antrim and Carlow just to stand still.

Won yesterday pulling up, Leinster really is a hard watch.
Credit to Meath, thought they fought hard, won everything in the middle, even most of the dirty ball, but the gap in quality is very evident, still i think they came for performance as opposed to a result and they got it. The score prob didn't do them justice, they faded when we emptied the bench and coming down the straight. Though their no 17 was class, cleaned up in the middle and caught airplanes.
Some very good performances, Lahiff i thought was brilliant and key to everything. Mannion oozed class. Con was brilliant. Howard - i think is hugely underrated and prob our highest quality player, hes magnificent.
Tough day at the office for the living legend, but cobwebs im sure - off note Comerford togged out for The Mun over the weekend, i believe.
If im honest, the defense doesn't fill me with confidence, we are very open and you will get chances against us. I think Dessie has an idea of hybrid players, so you could see McMahon, Murch, Fitzy roaming and flooding more advanced lines, same right the way up the pitch but it can leave us very open at the back - may be it will all settle i felt the same at this stage last season.
Bit disappointed not to see young Clancy get a run, hes the future without doubt but maybe a year to soon. I really, really like Killian McGuiness, we have a player there and i would have liked to see him play - prob for McGarry, who im still not convinced off when the heat is on.
Fierce options and massive competition. Leinster isnt going to be a problem, i dont mean that in an arrogant way - but i think its an un-honest man who says different, its a hard watch.
But we go again, i believe its Offaly in Croker, which is a pity and Tulamore or PL i think would do the job. Maybe a double header with Kildare and Louth - that one will be interesting.
We go again, as always Up The Dubs.

I thought Mick Fitz and Murch and McMahon were all very good tbh. Lahiff is turning into a very fine midfielder. Selection options will be a welcome headache for Dessie in the upcoming games. Dont forget Lee & Jack still to come back into the defence also.
Fully expect Clancy to get a run out v Offaly in 2 weeks time.
Cian McBride was the Meath #17 - not long back from Australia where he was playing Aussie Rules. A bit raw but could turn out to be an excellent player.

Agree with nearly all you postes User but the reality still was Meath were poor. The reality is as you mentioned Cluxton had an off day.Probably his worst kicking performance in years and also Dublin were without Fenton (the best midfielder of his generation) and yet Meath still lose by 16pts. I agree that Meath went into game not believing they could win and just wanted to come out with credit.Meath s best work came from kickouts. If Fenton was there Id worry about the final tally. One other thing id disagree with you on though is McGarry.I think he s a great worker even if he wont give the scoreboard operator too much work.I think Cian Murphy is a super all energetic player and like the cut of McGinniss too.
