If everyone is on the same wavelength as you we will have a good 2025 which will get better in years to come with the underage talent. We need all the experinced players in CTG,LLG,Raharney and Clonkill who are having their doubts. If the big majority commit Westmeath is actually in a better place than Offaly and Laois. So let us hope the players see it as we do!

CTG can hold their heads high on a great performance Thought Conor murphy really took the game on in the first half and the injury to O reilly was tough for castletown when needing them scores at the end. Hopefully can build on this and come back stronger next year. Dazzler30 (Westmeath) - Posts: 36 - 25/11/2024 14:14:32 2581180 Link 1 |
Priority for Castletown is to qualify for Leinster next year, not a given as Westmeath championship is very competitive, Castletown have a few potential starters and subs who have emigrated, Conor Kane, Cormac Jackson, David Lynch, Naoise McKenna, Conor Lynch, Plunkett Maxwell, five of those in recent months so unlikely to feature in next year's campaign, they would give good options off the bench, Mick Heeney when fully recovered from injury and Sean Jackson would boost the squad and Neale Pierson is eligible next year and a fine versatile hurler. Their under 20s chances in semi final suffered a major blow with David O' Reilly's injury. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1929 - 25/11/2024 14:29:50 2581185 Link 0 |
Neale Pierson has been very good for Westmeath schools this year. Any further on these trial games? I believe Bulfin has asked lads in directly alongside this. I didn't make the trial game last week did anyone go and have feedback? Dean Ennis was one name who could make the cut, excellent underage talent.

The trial game obviously didn't go ahead last night due to weather conditions? Dheen (Westmeath) - Posts: 958 - 28/11/2024 12:46:31 2581581 Link 0 |
Another lack of foresight from our county board again, fixing a final that could go to extra time & penalties for 2.30. Dangerous fading light in Collinstown this eve for the junior final, couldn't go to penalties as a result of the light westmeathgaa11 (Westmeath) - Posts: 295 - 30/11/2024 16:50:36 2581781 Link 0 |

Not too worried about if we end up winning matches and bringing more youngsters through to the senior squad.
