Any word on the ground about the candidates for the top job? I would have loved Andy Moran but i'd say he could be headed back to Mayo. Karl Lacey is another possible candidate that I think would be a great appointment but may be heard to lure him away from the Donegal Academy. I saw on twitter that Kevin Johnston is the front runner for the Galway u20 job, logistically it would make sense for him, but surely the attraction of managing his home county would be appealing for him. I hope Gerry McGowan is involved as coach, as managed previously we have other sligo coaches with inter-county experience, proven underage success and club provincial success. Paul Henry looks to be a very good manager with proven underage success but it does concern that he has never managed a senior team.

@Sligonian I do admire you as a poster and although I disagree with about 90% of your posts, you always push to keep this page going and definitely raise debate. But surely you are trying to wind a few boys up by thinking that the CB officials are watching your every move on here and even going to the trouble of creating accounts to reply to you & not to mention the fact that you believe that players value your opinion and take your opinions on board!! Come on lad, you must have had a good chuckle to yourself typing that!

Coming to the business end of the leagues, I'm sure some county players will tog out this weekend. Division 1 looks to be straightforward enough, fair play to Enniscrone it was a great achievement getting there but always going to be a struggle, i'm sure they will see the benefit of playing Division 1 football in their championship campaign. Massive pressure on Molaise to deliver this year

There is no chance we get the likes of Davy. What would he be coming here for when half the country will be making him offers. Don't be daft.

Instead of bringing in foreign lads we should look to have lads who know the panel in charge. A player-manager should be a serious consideration. There are plenty of strong candidates. The likes of Paddy O'Connor know better what is happening on the pitch than anyone else. It is not for nothing he is known as "Cool Hand Paddy" on the panel. Another good man would be Paul Kilcoyne. He is a "talisman" for that team and knows how to make lads play for him. He has been a great servant to Sligo football and although moving on has a lot to offer as a player-manager. "Athnionn ciarog ciarog eile."

I think that's a fantastic suggestion! It's such a good idea that I don't think you should share any other of your ideas on this platform anymore. You're ahead of the curve and it would be wasted on us!

Well now things have got a bit more interesting in Division 1 with those two draws. Tourlestrane are in the league final for sure now with Shamrock Gaels the most likely to join them looking at the last two rounds. Was a good result for Curry seeing as they had 14 men for most of the game. At the bottom end Enniscrone are putting in a gallant effort but they'll need probably two wins to stay safe and can't see it happening, wouldn't be surprised if they beat Harps though. After that Coolera, DRP, Mullinabreena, Curry all are not safe but looking at the fixtures it could come down to the Curry v Mullinabreena game or even come into a 3 team tie yet/score diff. All in all it has been a pretty competitive and entertaining league.

With all due respect Jimmy Keaveney proved it could be. Your country cannot even get 15 lads to tog out so the manager has not worked too well for ye. Just my opinion. But don't be surprised if it happens.

Very few did well with predictions for Div 1. Relegation is very tight. Hard to see Enniscrone survive. Drawing with Coolaney wasn't much use to them and it was worse for Coolaney to drop a point at home. Enniscrone play Harp's who hammered Drumcliffe leaving them safe. If Harps beat Enniscrone then it's probably the winner of Harp's and Gaels in the last game that will play Tourlestrane in the League final. I think Harps will beat Enniscrone and Gaels will beat Coolaney next week. Curry will beat Coolaney on the last day to stay in Div 1. That's the way I see it finishing up
