Sorry about that Overthebar53, I couldn't resist it, - you are probably right Ardee are big favourites no doubt but, if R'villy can raise their game for the entire 60 mins and beyond it could very well go down to the final whistle.
They can be a great little outfit when they want.

Thought darragh foley would have another couple of years left. Great servant. Where does he rank in the counties all time greats?

In terms of attitude, commitment, longvity and positivity the best of them all

Wish Darragh Foley all the best on his retirement from inter county football. Great commitment to be involved for so long. Always brought a great attitude and belief to the county team. He will be missed.

A great servant to Carlow and best wishes for his retirement. I had hoped he might give it another year or two, possibly even as a goalie but in fairness he owes us nothing and deserves to bow out now if it suits him personally.

Darragh certainly will be missed. He was a mighty player and his scoring record may not be passed for a long time. A good target man and a fine captain. Best wishes to him on his retirement.

Fair play and best of luck to darragh was.a wonderful servant for many years usually more bad ones than good ones unfortunately.

Remember him been touted when he was only 16 and Kilbride winning a championship in his first year playing with them great footballer and an even better person.

We will struggle to see the likes of him again in a Carlow shirt.

Darragh Foley epitomizes what the GAA is supposed to be about. Loyalty to club and county, no matter how difficult the circumstances.

If Darragh had been born in Dublin, Tyrone, Kerry or Armagh, he may well have an All-Ireland medal. He was that good.

Instead he has been an exceptional and devoted player for a small rural club, spending most of his time in junior and intermediate grades. He also never let Carlow down - unlike a few others who reacted poorly to the swings and roundabouts of playing for a less fashionable county, and never really fulfilled their potential.

Thanks for everything, Darragh.

Nice one Carps, well put. Can't add much more to that

Daragh definitely is up there with any of the best that played with carlow. A Very versatile player who probably could have played anywhere on the field. By all accounts fiercely committed to training too. Had his injuries early on if I recall definitely 1 acl if not 2 and goes on to become a carlow legend. Behind all these players are families too and his mam and dad were with him every step of the journey no matter what.

If that is best that carlow club football can offer we are in deep deep trouble. Game over after 15 minutes,
What's the story with Brendan Murphy.

That went well for you supersub. Ardee at their ease as I predicted. Rathvilly have never raised a gallop outside of carlow and this was yet another example of that.

Ballon fenagh and rathvilly all out. We really need to take a good look at our club game. You can't compete at inter county with such a poor standard at club level

County board don't come out of this with any credit.nothing new there admittedly..They insisted replayed final be played 6 days after drawn game.No need for it when there was such a gap to today's game.

Are you actually blaming the scheduling of the football championship for Rathvilly' s loss?

Why isn't Joe Murphy the incoming Carlow football manager. I went to Newbridge Saturday night just to watch a game of football & what a match it was. I thought to myself that's one of ours out there managing at this level of quality & we're going to Roscommon to fill the position. Ridiculous to be honest.
