Replying To PeterQ92:  "Of course Donegal were training in November, everyone knows it, and so was every county in Ireland!

Jack O'Conner is a whinger, always was.
Kerry can stroll into the latter stages of the championship without a glove being put on them, Donegal have Derry in the first round of Ulster. We are operating in different worlds."
Nail on head. If it was the Donegal of 2023 that went down to Killarney, we'd have been beaten out the gate and there wouldn't be a word said about any training.

Four Masters are doing quite a bit of work, no doubt about it. They train their underage teams all year round bar a month or so. Take effort and organisation.

Are you a Donegal fan or a troll from some other County?

Because I cannot for the life of me understand how any genuine Donegal fan would be on here spewing that kind of nonsense, which was picked up by some journalists and quoted by Jack O'Connor.

Effort and organisation sure but population helps too. It's no coincidence that Abbott open their doors there in 2006 and 19 years later there's a Macrory final team. Unfortunately that's not an opportunity afforded to most clubs in Donegal bar maybe those in Letterkenny.
They're putting two teams out at most age groups which is a credit to them, it's a numbers game too. They just have the right structures and support around it now and are putting in the coaching work to yield the rewards.
Dublin are the perfect example of this, they always had population but money and coaching yielded 9 all Ireland's in the last 15 years. In the 25 years prior to that with lesser money and coaching they had 1 all Ireland. It all has to come together.

He was seeing a specialist this week to assess the injury. They don't fully know the extent of injury yet.

No genuine Donegal fan would be on here in a public forum spreading that type of stuff, its trolling and vindictive and is being picked up by lazy ass journalists, some of whom are still a bit sore at the Donegal management."
Donegal were training. As were other counties. It's hardly a scandal.

Ah.....could PeterQ92 actually be a Mayo man lurking in the Donegal hills or stirring the pot from afar!! Makes more sense, as it would be unusual and deeply worrying that a true Donegal GAA man would betray his County on here like that.

"Donegal were training. As were other counties. It's hardly a scandal."

I don't believe they were, but maybe you have hard evidence specifically about Donegal you wish to share?
Noting that nobody is shouting about Kerry, Dublin, Armagh, Galway, Mayo etc all training early, only Donegal are getting name checked in the press multiple times.

Galway are the team shooting the lights out in the early rounds, and yet Donegal, who are only winning by narrow margins are targeted and really singled out.

Firstly i haven't been following the press on this. Nor do i care because to me it's a non story.

Secondly betraying his county? You think posters on HS have a big effect on things? You are being over dramatic.

Lastly do i have hard evidence? You are just being silly now if you are denying they were training or if you really didn't realise. You think i just throw out these random statements? I told you Murphy was injured in Abu Dhabi and would be out for a while. That was before it was common knowledge. There wasn't a peep on here about it.

A non-story!! You may think stories which could hurt Donegal GAA financially or otherwise are non-stories, but I certainly don't.

Pre-Christmas we had posters/trolls on here suggesting they had inside knowledge and openly stating that Donegal were breaking GAA training rules! On a national GAA forum which some sports journalists do frequent, as its a rumour mill.

In January that snippets start appearing in national GAA articles and now we have Kerry manager twice on post-match interviews referencing that Donegal are fair bit ahead of everyone, when pressed on it by a Journalist in Killarney, he said "well it was reported that they had a good bit of work done".

That "non-story" has since been referenced by other pundits or journalists across the Island, and while its not a headline, it is a story. Even the 8ft fence around one pitch at the Centre of Excellence is a story.

I regularly hear stories from the Donegal camp, most of us here would, but the majority of us wouldn't be on here making sensitive information public, not info that could hurt Donegal GAA, I would view that as a betrayal.

It was reported by the media and referenced by Jack O Connor because it's true. So there's not much point crying about it.

Alright Folks..just wanted to get every one opinion on Finnbar Roarty so far this year..is he the real deal. I think he is and is an out and out a good defender, very fit and reads the game brilliantly hence his block late in the Kerry..also I think he kept Paudie Clifford to just 2 points from play If I remember correctly..he's still learning but what a potential??

Very highly rated in Glenties, McGuinness wanted to fast track him last year despite just turning 18 and he has attracted strong attention from Oz. Think all that sums up his potential. Been impressed of the little I've seen of him so far.

Looks to be a ball playing man marker. Could he be of the Barry McGowan mould?

"Because its true"? Was evidence of this ever publicly produced from a reliable source?

If not, then its just hearsay or propaganda by people on here looking to damage Donegal GAA or get us punished by singling us out with false rumours.

The articles I seen and even Jack O Connor's comments didn't claim to have any evidence, they eluded to the fact that Donegal looked like they had a lot of work done or rumours they had.

Murphy showing today he never lost his class, Forker proving he never had it.

Great to see the GOAT back.

Another couple of points on the board and mission accomplished regarding the points objective granted earlier than probably expected. Interesting to see how the management will treat the rest of the league. One thing is for sure despite a lengthy absence list Donegal have now great depth. Things could've been different without the ridiculously stupid red card. Lots to work on given the wides and some very sloppy play in the second half. Plus no sign of the green flag today either. Great to see Murphy back. Looks really lean and fit like he never left. A real game changer from last year. I was also impressed with some of our one on one tackling today and overall defensively solid. We did get opened up a couple of times including the goal but overall we scrambled well.

Hugely impressed with Donegal today, best team in the country now and should push on now and win the league easily.
Murphy returning is a master stroke and he was class all over today unlike Zidane Forker
