Replying To B&G: "Is there relegation this year in the championship" 2 go down, 1 comes up and SFC reduces from 12 to 11 next year. The plan is to have 10 in senior, 8 in intermediate and 6 in junior (3 Junior clubs, 3 second teams) by the end of 2026. That's the theory, in practice it will probably depend on who gets relegated or fails to get promoted and what short-term interest they start lobbying for next Spring. Manning Gaels surprise us and stay clear of the 2 relegation spots, then we will have 13 teams playing Senior football next year. Bookmark this now!!! A 12 team round robin of two groups with 5 games to determine the quarter finalists. The bottom 2 in each group then go into a round robin group of 4 with the bottom 2 in that being relegated.
