Replying To gaelsboy:  "you sure about 3 teams relegated to junior B for 2026? I feel like that would put 2 to 3 first teams in real jeopardy as likes of Mohill and Annaduff's reserves are well able to compete and get points at that level. No complaints personally, no jeopardy means no hunger to win. though it will create mass disillusion in and the expedited folding of some once proud clubs"
The information is available on the Leitrim Gaa website. It's under "Leitrim GAA County Committee Meeting 22.01.2024 - Motions"

Replying To Leitrim2024:  "Senior will have 8 teams in a single group. Each team plays 4 games in the group stage. Top 6 go into knockouts and bottom 2 play in relegation final.
1 team relegated to Intermediate.

Intermediate will have 10 teams in a single group. Each team plays 4 games. Top 6 go into knockouts. Bottom 4 teams play relegation semis with losers relegated. Winners of relegation semis play relegation final with the loser relegated.
3 teams total relegated to Junior A.

Junior A will have 10 teams in 2 groups of 5. Like Intermediate 3 teams are relegated to Junior B.

Junior B and C will be played in a similar manner to last year.

The big thing of note is that it's very possible that a clubs first team could be playing Junior B for the 2026 season."
Was Aughavas, Aughnasheelin and Drumreilly not relegated from intermediate last year and Bornacoola won junior A so they be the only team to go up from Junior A which would make Intermediate a 8 team championship this year, looking like Junior A be a 10 team Championship, and likely to be a competitive one this year. I think the plan should be to have 3 top divisions as 8 teams in each and junior B & C could be 10 and 9 team championships as the numbers odd as it stands.

There shouldn't be second teams competing against first teams in the intermediate or junior championship.

Second and third teams should be in their own divisions as such

Senior is basically a shoot out between Mohill, Ballinamore, Fenagh and St. Marys.

If a first team aren't good enough to beat a second string team on merit, why punish the second string team? What counties don't allow second string teams to compete against clubs first teams?

Clubs too weak to compete with second string teams should be begging for regional teams at the county board convention every year until some version of it passes.

Strong clubs having strong second teams is not a bad thing. Just need to make sure players being seeded is managed correctly (make sure players missing first rounds don't play down levels etc, which I think they introduced a rule to stop)

It devalues a competition if there are 7 first teams and the obviously larger pick club with a second team wins the championship.
