Aughavas got promoted lad. Outside of Allen Gaels I wouldn't be calling another other team in intermediate a force.

They look the standout team alright, only team not to drop points all league. Everyone else seems capable of losing to the other. Some amount of ring being talked on this about how teams are this and that, then again championship is what it's mostly about, as mentioned a lot of clubs will gain a few lads back this month that could make a difference

Replying To bláthach:  "Gortletteragh to beat annaduff? Not a hope. History weighs against them in that particular fixture. I think it could be nearly fifteen years since gortletteragh beat annaduff. However as the great Finnish philosopher jari litmamen once uttered he who will throw the fishing rod into the pond may never catch an old rusty bucket. Thanks."
Did Jari Litmanen not play for Liverpool?

So, question on the timings of this year's competitions:
Spring-A-Leak: Mar 22 - May 17
League: May 31 - Aug 9 (Div 1)
Championship: Aug 16 - Oct 19 (Senior)/Oct 26 (Intermediate)/Nov 2 (Junior)
Connacht Club (all three): Nov 15 or 16

What do you all think of the times of the year these competitions have been and will be played? Should anything have been changed? If you could change anything about the upcoming games this year, would you?

It looks like league and championship could be started earlier until you see the connacht club fixtures, a month wait for the seniors will leave them badly stuck for a competitive game. Is what it is I guess.
Spring leagues can't start much earlier due to unplayable pitches and player availability, not everyone is interested in playing Micky mouse games in February

Can the league not be split leaving the championship to be played in the summer and final rounds post championship.

Id scrap the spring league altogether and get the main league started earlier in the year. our neighbours in roscommon and sligo are already up and running with their championships and will have a couple of rounds played before we even start. The teams in league finals this weekend, although happy to be there Im sure, have a big game one week before championship which i think is avoidable.

I was at the fenagh and Leitrim village game on Friday evening last. Good hard physical game. The jones lads were playing and were extremely average. Don't look fit at all for me and this is a worry for them going sideways and forward. Fenagh look powerful and forceful and played with an abandon and aplomb and had many admirers from the thing. I think they could be the dominant force in Leitrim for many many weeks yes please. Thanks.

Absolutely. Scrap spring league and make actual league home and away. Align league with championship and seed the higher ranked league teams.

A league home & away wouldn't be a bad idea in fairness. However the championship is effectively a mini league (to start with) which would have to looked at.
