Gaelic Armor stuff not great quality imo, bought few bits from them before and wore down quickly with occasional wear, I have some o'neill's stuff over 10 years. will not be buying new jersey gaelsboy (Leitrim) - Posts: 571 - 22/11/2024 15:04:58 2580732 Link 0 |
I'd love to know the deal they're getting.... I doubt we're talking about a significant uplift in profit share let's be honest. I won't be buying it either to be honest. A poor move to be honest.

I can't see many paying 75 euro for a brand that is not known. It's no cheaper than an O'Neills jersey. So id agree a very poor move. I know the players would prefer to be kitted out in O'Neills gear. It's a small thing and so easy to get right. Not surprised they got it wrong.

As far as I am aware it never been about a deal, it's about supply to the county setup. O'Neil's was always a problem getting gear every year. O'Neils wouldn't give hoot about Leitrim as the general public sales numbers aren't there, so all category of the county setup was always waiting until last minute for gear. That's why they switched to McKeever I believe, but I believe the last year or 2 McKeever supply also became an issue.

Agree with this. Why not support the new suppler and get on with it I am no expert on jerseys and I haven't seen it yet ,except in photos. However the feedback I am getting is very positive, unlike the criticism om this forum. . joeman123 (Leitrim) - Posts: 514 - 25/11/2024 00:40:23 2581098 Link 0 |

I have Gaelic armour gear and I'd question the quality. As would any parent when after 7 washes it has to be replaced.

Not really, but I prefer on the upside of positivity than yourself who is continuously whinging about everything, from managers to jerseys.

Ah the good auld 'isn't everything grand' attidute. Leitrim GAA is in the state it's in because of attitudes like yours.

I find that strange reasoning.... we did change before from O'Neills to Connolly (in the 90's... Connolly are long gone BTW) but went back to O'Neills so to then change to McKeever & so forth would be strange unless there was a financial aspect to it. I get that there's not the same jersey demand but to change for that reason and that alone would be baffling (i.e. A delay in obtaining kit).

That is not true and things are not bad. What in the name of God are you bringing to the debate except to continuously whinge. You lead a campaign against Andy Moran, when almost everyone else considered he was making progress. You lauded and promoted Mickey Graham and we know how that ended. Now you are whinging/cringing about the Leitrim jersey. You have form as ????? joeman123 (Leitrim) - Posts: 514 - 25/11/2024 18:17:58 2581225 Link 1 |
To be honest I thought McKeever were a good kit. Some of the away/alternate strips were gorgeous. I saw more people going around in Leitrim jerseys when we were with McKeever than we did ever before. It is my understanding they were a lot cheaper than O'Neills jerseys so that might be why. southleitrim_mafia (Leitrim) - Posts: 113 - 26/11/2024 08:52:05 2581269 Link 0 |
I'd agree with Square B on Andy Moran tbh. And I would disagree that almost everyone else considered Andy was making progress!! They did not. Anyone watching the games would disagree. In his defence there was not enough quality there. Poacher will need time, if he keeps us up in division 3 he is a special coach. 3rdmidfielder (Australia) - Posts: 341 - 26/11/2024 19:11:31 2581363 Link 0 |
I completely agree, people in the forum can be awful negative and downright spiteful in this forum.

The one thing I liked about Andy Moran was that he managed to keep a stable enough senior panel over his years. I know a few lads in the panel and they all seemed to enjoy what was going on.. Year after year we seem to always have a big over hall of our senior panel. Which is good for nobody. Take this year again, I've heard of 10 or 12 lads from last year stepping away from the panel. If Poacher can get some of them back and keep a panel together for a couple of years then it can only be positive for the county

It has been mostly the media that said Andy Moran was making progress. Do you seriously think he brought Leitrim on from the years Terry Hyland was in charge? If a team was making progress then Leitrim should have excelled in the Tailteann Cup instead it was Preliminary quarter final exit to Wicklow by a margin of 7 points and the year before knocked out at the group stage after 3 games and 3 defeats. Time for you to get real Joe. Have some standards for your county instead of being a yes man.

If he keeps us in division 3 he should be given freedom of the county. Hate to jump on the negativity bandwagon but we were lucky ducks to get promotion, we were completely found out in the league final vs an okay Laois team. he has a lot of work to do but I don't think it is impossible
