Who in their right mind would over look Galway. They are one of the best teams in the country.

Nothing to worry about Dave. Togoutlads on the Galway thread twisted your words in a very poor effort to play the Wum, it still caught a few rossies that should have known better.

On the upside we have the strongest panel in years. We reached a QF last year which we weren't that far away in. And it seems like there is big player buy in. I hope they do themselves justice now."
We do indeed have the strongest panel in years. We also have Davy Burke as Manager. I still remember the excitement of our win in Pearse stadium in June 2019 with thousands of Roscommon supporters out on the pitch. I was standing beside Minister McEntee sporting her Roscommon jersey. Best of luck to the team and management on Sunday.

That was a great day! Enough of these lads have won Connacht titles in Pearse stadium not to fear the place.

No one fears the place. We've gone In as under dogs many's the day and in many's the venue and won
But This feels different in my opinion. - we've been playing poorly - no disrespect to any player but defensively really really bad hard to see how we're going to magically turn it round if we do fair play to Davy and I hope he and the team do

Clare, Galway v Roscommon is always a decent day out, usually with a decent pints afterwards in Down the Hatch or PJ'S. Very few actually take it seriously, except for the odd few, you know the type, spending endless time on the Mayo blog replying to every thread.

Who the hell is Clare? Very strange your continuous comments saying I'm this Clare one whoever she is.

Ya id agree with all that. But we will go support the team and I'd be happy with a good competitive performance and something to build on

Yea a good performance and being competitive will be encouraging even if it is the wrong result. Weather looking alright even the wind not looking too bad as yet but sure could change between now and then.

I as a Galway man definitely think bookies are way out in odds in last 4 games this year Galway have only one win thar was v New York where they conceded 20 points and if rumours in Galway is to believe both comer and Walsh won't play and if Walsh not playing Roscommon have serious chance I'd expect Ross to score around 2-13 mark they have good forwards and a much improved midfield so it woukd not be a shock for me if Ross beat Galway,,,

Good win by Roscommon under 20's tonight against Leitrim who were missing their six senior players. They
used the kicked pass very well and were much more direct than Leitrim, resulting in a well deserved 24 point win. (6-17 to 1-8). They now play Sligo in the semi final. Mayo look the standout team with 4 wins out of four after their 15 point win over Sligo tonight. (5-22 to 2-16). Good chance of Roscommon making the final if they continue improving.

I think if the senior team can use the kicked pass more frequently against Galway next Sunday, it will also improve our chances. The bookies do not give us much of a chance but I do if we play well. Ciaran and Ben are recently after kicking into gear after a year out and if a few more join them, who knows what might happen.
No doubt there will be wind again on Sunday in Pearse Stadium. If we win the toss should play with it in the first half?
See on the Galway thread that some expect to win only working at 80%. Hopefully their players have the same mindset.

Routine win for our U20s against a weakened Leitrim line up. 6 goals scored got to clear the bench early in the 2nd half goal from mcguinness 2,R Carthy, J Curran and goal each for Green,Rob Heneghan off the bench. Sligo we face in the semi-final next Wednesday in a neutral venue.

Well done to the u20s. It's a crazy scenario that Leitrim seniors are that dependent on their u20 panel.

You are on the button, they need to use the kick pass much more against Galway than they've done so far. I think they have to play with the wind in the first if they win the toss. Can't take the chance of Galway starting with the breeze like against Donegal. Along with improving our scoring efficiency we need to play with serious intensity, be physical but no silly indiscipline and be all over the breaking ball. If a Galway man gets a score make sure he has worked his socks for it.

Both Walsh and Comer played in a recent A v B challenge neither was ever going to play on that hard AstroTurf surface in New York. Wouldn't be paying much attention to what was conceded against New York in what was a game with little or no intensity and key defenders in McHugh,Silke didn't play.

80%??? I don't think that. Roscommon on their day can beat anyone. Galway should be deserving favorites but so what? It's 50/50 once they blow the whistle.

Tough game this Sunday, Roscommon will have it all to do against a very strong Galway side who are really targeting an All Ireland in July. I think it might just be a bit too much for us, Galway (like ourselves) have some of the best forwards in the country, but unlike us they are very well drilled at the back and don't give many opportunities away when the heat of the game is on. These are now the games where our leaders like Enda Smith, Diarmuid & Ciarain Murtagh, Niall Daly and Davy Murray have to stand up and go toe to toe with Galway.

I'd like to see this team for Sunday. Not sure if Stack is available. Promised to be a wet and windy day in Salthill so ball retention and patience with taking the right scores will be key

1.Carroll
2.Neary
3.Murray
4. Higgins
5.Ruane
6. N Daly
7. Ruairi Fallon
8. Eddie Nolan
9. Keith Doyle
10. Ciarain Murtagh
11. Ultan Harney
12. Enda Smith
13. Diarmuid Murtagh
14. Cian McKeon
15. Ben O'Carroll

A good strong team, not sure if Niall is fit? Brian Stacks injury was supposed to be ribs and should be available but whether he is up to match speed is another thing. I'd be tempted to fit in Shane Cunnane there somewhere as well. We need to defend but we also need players in and around the full back and half back line that are good kick passers who can start a quick counter. Fallon and Stack are, Cunnane can also pick a pass. As the Kerrymen would say... heads up football.

Galway had a very tight defence at the start of the league but they were opened up in their last three games, 1-18 v Tyrone, 2-19 v Dubs, 3-24 v Kerry (DLL). When you factor Joyce was saying they were targetting a league final, did some of the rule tweaks have an impact on them? Galway are not only favourites but there is a bit of pressure on them to hit back with a win after how their league finished. No more than ourselves.
