Thanks Analyser. Great to be entering a few dates into the new 2025 diary and to get there first for the very important ones.

Is that you Davy? Or Brian? Crazy money. Mental.

No I'm not from Kildare or Kilmore you can keep guessing. How's things in Australia summer there now?

My point is the expenses covers all county teams and will natural be high figures when the county board appoint plenty of outside coaches than those within the county.

I see that the likes of Lavin, Hussey, McCormack, Colin Walsh, Andy Glennon, Adam McDermott and Cian Connolly have left the panel, all bar McCormack weren't starters but never the less 3 backs there and it's a position we need to find depth in in the coming months. Colm Neary, Tim Lambe, Oisin Cregg, John McManus and Pearse Frost all brought. Would really like to see Frost and Declan Kenny get a chance in the league amongst others. Anyone know if Conor Daly is definitely back once the Pearses lads return?

"County board spending is well monitored ". 325k is a crazy money to spend on managing amateur sports teams. It's not just Roscommon either btw. It's obvious where the bulk of that money went. Value for money?

I posted up more than the well monitored bit but the admin/mods edited my post. It was explaining why.

Fair enough. It is a conversation for most counties in fairness. The spending is astronomical across the board at intercounty and at club level.

Another 2 million I believe was spent and I presume the bulk of that money went towards the fine upgrades on Hyde Park.

Not cheap to keep all county teams running nowadays, Meals/nutrition/Catering. Medical expenses etc. Player mileage would be big money also, how many Roscommon players are currently living in Roscommon?

Management expenses 325k (up a whopping 100k from 2023) were almost as much as players milage. Only a matter of time before the players will look for more. And rightly so. It's them putting in the huge levels of commitment.

I hope that's last ever county finals played outside Roscommon. Totally misjudged decision by the county board with having six clubs driving past plenty of playable pitches within the county.

Results in the three U20 finals and windy and cold Bekan.

Div1 Final
Roscommon Gaels 0-11 Éire Óg /Michael Glavey's 1-6

Div 2 final
Oran/St Croan's 3-6 St Dominics 2-5

Div 3 Final
Western Gaels 0-15 Kilglass Gaels/St. Barry's 0-7

Div 1 final as competitive as the scoreline suggests and was a case of Roscommon Gaels finishing strongly with good impact off the bench which included Ethan O'Reilly. Ryan Conlon who scored 0-6, Rory Carthy, Senan Lambe and Eoghan Carthy was among the best for the winners. Daniel Hagney,Niall Heneghan,Oisin Kelly best for Éire Óg /Michael Glavey's . Rob Heneghan,Brian Greene didn't get into the game as much as they liked credit to the way Shane Moran and his management that and I hope Shane who is the county U17 manager next year has the team as well organised and disciplined.

Div 2 final was the best of the three finals. County U17 minors Eoin Collins,Alan Conroy very good for Oran/Croans and scoring 1-4 between them. Like the Div 1 final the winners was thankful to a strong finish only difference was two goals instead of six points. St Dominics improved a lot from the group meeting between the two and had plenty of talent on display in Michael Moran,Ronan McDermott,Rory KilclineTom Cotton.

Only got to see the 2nd half of the Div 3 final as the Div 1 final wasn't over until 2pm. At the stage Western Gaels was 0-6 to 0-4 in front and within 10 to 12 minutes of the 2nd half the lead went out to 0-11 to 0-4 and match was won. A boost to Western Gaels having a number of good young players coming through in Eanna Nolan,David Higgins,TJ Hannon, The Harringtons and of course Rory Hester who was their senior top scorer this year,

Happy Christmas and prosperous, healthy new year to my fellow rossies.

Agree with you, absolute madness taking 3 Roscommon Finals to another County.
A year of so much positivity in Ros GAA ending on such daftness.

You are a great source of information Analyser for those of us who no longer live in the county Analyser. You go to some amount of matches every year. Happy Christmas and New Year to you and to all Rossie supporters and users of the National forum.

Very hard to know at the minute and with no FBD to go off, it's a pure guessing game. Would leave the likes of Cregg and O Carroll til middle of the league with them playing sigerson and ease back in the Dalys etc. We need to be trying 2/3 new fellas from the start of the league and give them 3/4 games to see can they add depth to the panel. Declan Kenny had a super club championship and is the most deserving of a chance IMO. Senan Lambe probably the best defensive underage talent in the last 2 years or so and has played well in senior championship. Frost is as good out and out corner back as what's out there in the county and these are the lads we should be giving a chance to in div 2. In the best 2/3 years the likes of Niall Daly Murray Conor Daly etc will step away and we need fellas to be stepping up now.

1. Carroll
2. Higgins
3. Stack
4. Think we need to try someone new here maybe Pearse Frost/ Paddy Gavin etc?
5. Senan Lambe?
6. Fallon? Know he will be playing for NUIG but we haven't many options
7. Dylan Ruane
8. Keith Doyle
9. Eddie Nolan
10. Enda Smith
11. C Murtagh
12. Declan Kenny
13. D Murtagh
14. Cox
15. Cathal Heneghan

The likes of Donie, McKeon, Killoran, Harney on the bench, be nice to see McGinley get 15/20 minutes in a few games see can he be an option.

Just going to go through the panel and see what everyone thinks.
Conor Caroll - Without question 1st choice and will be even more important with new rules
David Murray - extended club campaign should be left to come back in in game 4 or so
Brian Stack - captain and in top 2/3 key players looks like might have to be left where he is and not at 6 where I think he is best.
Niall Higgins - came of age last year good club campaign hopefully can kick on
Niall Daly - needs a rest now and have him fresh for championship still has plenty to offer although may be from bench
Ronan / Conor Daly- bring back in after 2/3 league games can be crucial player
Dylan Ruane - new rules might suit him has big engine and decent middle 3rd player
Senan Lambe / Pearse Frost / Paddy Gavin - 3 lads who should get a chance during league and guys we could do with to put pressure on more established lads
Ruadhri Fallon - can be major player for us over the next few years brings an edge we badly need, can make number 6 his own
Eddie Nolan - Good to have him back will be needed as area we are short in, hopefully can bring club form of 2023 to county stage
Keith Doyle- big year for him has the potential and needs to kick on now and fully establish himself
Ultan Harney - would let ultan work himself into the team no rush, can be such a big player if gets a break
with injury, fingers crossed
Shane Cunnane - Decent option big man although not a starter IMO
Robbie Dolan - Burke likes him has potential but always fearful of his size especially against the better teams not a starter
Ciaran Lennon - another favorite of Burke will be up against it this year with lads back needs to step up as always plays well for Clann if don't see more from him in league he won't see much action come summer
Ciaran Murtagh - Fantastic that he is back our best and most consistent forward and will make us click
Daire Cregg - came of age last year and can have a big 2025, will be heavily involved for UCD so wouldn't rush him back too early in league 20 minute cameos etc maybe
Ben O Carroll - fingers crossed for an injury free year for Ben massive player for us so much talent hopefully by the end of the league he is up to speed not sure how far on he is
Cathal Heneghan - Similar to Ben really if can stay fit can be a massive player for us a bit of a forgotten man really has never caught a break please god it happens for him in 2025
Enda Smith - He wasn't alone last year in not playing to his usual incredibly high standards but hopefully is reenergized and back to his best in 2025 think C Murtagh being back is great for Enda as not everything has to go through him
Cian McKeon - Great to have Cian back very underrated player really direct and a different option
Donie Smith - Decent 2024 for Donie Burke really likes him and has put in some big shifts for us really selfless stuff might be more of an impact player with the few lads back now but key leader none the less
Conor Cox - Similar to Donie might be more of an impact role but plenty to offer still
Declan Kenny - super club campaign have high hopes for him stepping up as half forward for half back
Shane McGinley - brought into panel after unreal u20 campaign so should stand to him that he has been training with county for a few months would like to see him getting a chance in league off bench with likes of Adam McD, Glennon , Connolly not on panel this year.
Shane Killoran - great to see him back had great club campaign and can be a real option in middle third much needed depth

No place in your 22 for R Fallon, U Harney,D Ruane,C Heneghan etc?

10 senior panelists will be in Sigerson action from next week and if the likes of Daire Cregg, Ben O'Carroll are still involved with their college on Wednesday 22nd and again the following Wednesday in a Sigerson cup Quarter both could well be rested against Down,
