Replying To Kew:  "Take Shane Walsh and his 2 pointers out of the Galway team and they may have no wins."
He didn't even start versus Armagh and only scored 1 two pointer?

They'd have beaten Mayo with Louis Walsh playing instead of him

You still beat Mayo by two points and Armagh by 4 without Shane Walsh 2 pointers.

In reality Galway without Shane Walsh would be relegated no other team is so dependent on one man 2 do majority of scoring as I've said before Darcy , o Laoi and o Neill 1 point each in 3 games and all 3 play in forward not sure what Tierney had scored in his 2 matches maybe 3 points but not sure about him ,, I think Galway will make changes on Sunday
I think Conor Flahery start in goal also think Sean Fitzgerald might not start this one dilke at full back
Flaherty
McGrath. Silke. O flaherty
Mchugh. Daly. Kelly
Conroy / Maher
Mcdaid. Walsh. Darcy
Finnerty. Tierney. O curraine
That's my prediction I could be way out probably will be think Hernon will be centre. Back shortly

Could Roscommon be an actual outside bet to challenge for All Ireland this season? The new rules seem to be working for them and they have an abundance of quality, particularly in their forward lines.

They are prob 9th best team outstanding forward line. New rules suit their flair players.

At the minute they are prob better than a couple of div 1 teams ( mayo and Tyrone )

They are good in a one off game but not sure they have consistency and quality from 1 to 7 to contend

It will be a definite day for two pointers on Sunday if it goes ahead at all, as the weather forecast is for strong winds so whoever wins the toss could have a big bearing on who wins this one.wouldnt be surprised to see mulkerrin make a start,if Donegal play with the wind in first half you will see Michael Murphy come on early if not named to start.donegal will bring a good crowd of supporters I hope the weather doesn't deter the locals. The bar in the Arus bothar na tra will be open also for an appetizer.

Gleeson, McGrath, Kelly, O Flaherty, McHugh, Daly, Silke, Maher, Conroy, C Sweeney, Sam O Neill, Darcy, Finnerty, Tierney and Walsh.
Pretty strong team and bar Comer and McDaid, probably the first team. C Flaherty unlucky not to get a game at this stage and Fitzgerald unlucky to lose out also! Strong bench available Jack Glynn etc with O Curraoin developing nicely

Looking at weather forecast for Sunday and with Donegal having make long trip id imagine the GAA will have make a call on match if it goes ahead at some stage 2 morrow evening Gael force winds expect with rain the joys of playing matches in winter at least most counties will have summer off to watch other sports or go travelling

I wouldn't book anything ..

On the team named , good to see Finnerty starting, we'll need more scorers.
I don't think I'd be using the word " Dropped" with anyone, he is just changing it up.
I'd imagine if it goes ahead there will be a change or two before the game

Looking at named team for Sunday I'd say Silke might go full back with Sean Kelly going wing they might even change the keeper ,,,looking at half forward line can't see many scores there , think so far 2 points have being scored by them in 3 matches ,

If we are against the wind in the first half I'd drop finnerty to the bench. You need him with the wind.

Building nicely so far this year. Not much better a lot of teams, getting the balance right will be key. We have a lot of really good players. The right combinations is crucial.

Hernon could be the breakout player. Hope to see him on Sunday but certainly wouldn't take any risks of he's not 100%.

On another note, I see it doesn't take a lot for the doom merchants to come out. We've had a good start to first 2 1/2 games. One bad half and we are relegation material ...... The mind boggles.

No more than last year when we had a terrible start to the league, even though we are going well so far, it is easy too early to be ranking teams for all Ireland.

All I am looking for is players with long term injuries moving well, no new injuries and hopefully the odd new lad stepping up!

Hope Conroy gets a rest for the last few league games. Putting lots of minutes in his legs early in the year. On heavy pitches. I know he loves playing but feel he could do with a break soon.

I think it would be the wise and decent thing of the GAA to postpone it for the week. It's bad form putting both teams out in that weather and risking injuries for the year ahead. Not fair on the Donegal supporters driving down in those conditions either.

If they cancel every game for a yellow warning there could be games cancelled every weekend. They might have to move game because Pearse Stadium pitch surface may not be great.

Very little wriggle room left in the calendar and as you say, there could be plenty more "yellow" weather events over the next few weeks. Does the tuam surface handle the rain any better than Salthill?

Just Pearse has a 3 or 4 games in last few weeks between hurling and football and more rain may not help that but no word of it being moved yet anyway.

Worst of the weather is forecast for the morning anyway, with a clearance predicted to gradually set in by noon. Might be too wet but will still be breezy.
Why are the GAA in such a hurry to get the intercounty program over and done by July? Let it run into August at least. No-one only the diehards go to the club matches and they don't generate too much revenue until the later stages anyway. Real case of the tail wagging the dog.
