Good win and another 2 points. First half we looked lethal with the fast ball going in to the two inside. Probably should have had four goals in the first half. Second half went a bit wayward with some poor decisions shooting. Main thing is the backs never looked like conceding a goal. No game now for three weeks will allow the few knocks to clear up hopefully.

He played very well, but I wouldn't be getting excited yet...considering Clare were missing over half their regular Championship team..... We all know Championship hurling is a horse of a different colour altogether!!
Was wondering what happened the rookie Clare corner back late in the 1st half when he had to go off injured....he didn't look happy with "your man"

Galway played well but I wouldn't be getting carried away..bar two or 3 players that was probably Galway championship team..Clare team only 4 starters from the ai..not only that but 8 of their starting 15 were not even In the match day 26 in the ai .
Byrnes does look like a find though,..I don't remember him underage,.what age is he?

I haven't a clue. Umpires didn't seem too worried about it. Maybe was something to do with the lash he got across the arm 5 mins earlier ;)

Yes I saw that slap down on his hand, Clare are notorious for late slaps when their man has the better of them....bit like a Club team in Galway back in the 2006-2009 period!

Really successful league so far in my opinion. Not for the results either way, but in terms of blooding new players. I wud have been worried about the forwards but Burns and McLaughlin look like great options to challenge the likes of Cooney, Flynn etc. Kevin and John Cooney are good players too and Oisin Lohan was solid for a young lad.

Hopefully this is the year we see Tiernan Killeen stay fit and nail down a spot in the middle third. He is someone who has the right athletic profile for todays game and I think he can play anywhere from 5-12. Ciana Fahy is another one who has again impressed and could grow into Galways version of William O Donoghue

The rest of the league should be working out who plays at one of the cornerback spots, who starts at 3, 7 and wing forward. I would like Cathal Mannion to play the role Evan Niland did on Sunday

Scurrilous comment to make no justification whatsoever typical keyboard warrior Clare Defender took a dig to a very sore spot but there may have been an earlier incident that he was involved in anyways umpires saw nothing so its over.

Don't do spouting untruths unless you can produce evidence and i attend every Clare match and have never seen a referee book or send off a player for a wild slap

Hurlers were very impressive Saturday evening. Burns seems like a good find. Hopefully its a sign of things to come.

this person seems to have a serious problem. I think it is with himself / herself. Horrible individual.

Plenty of positives so far after 3 rounds - I think we will see some of the lads that played against Tipp mightnt make the panel now . Micheal said there will be a few let go this week .

Darach Fahy i think is now No 1 , Gavin Lee a work in progress but so far so good at 6 , and Cianan and Tom Monaghan excellent in midfield . Kileen a really good passer at 11 and Whelan at 14

Pity we lost Daithi Burke early on Saturday as I think 3 is where we need him most .

In an ideal world against Limerick away and Cork away we would see close to our Championship 15

And after that, its getting back to a Leinster final

Another step forward this weekend, what I liked was the first half especially the serious speed and cohesiveness in the forward line. Well aware that this was a Clare "B" team but you can only play what's put in front of you and they did that. The half back line seems to be taking shape and hopefully will get better with experience. The work rate of Killeen and Fahy is also a plus. it would be nice to see this team playing on a real field and not a oceanside bog, I also saw a lot of wide's to the left in the second half. The biggest dilemma I see is Niland hes probably a top 2 free taker in the land but is it enough to nail down a position on this team, I didn't see enough of him in open play to deserve a spot, but its so hard to argue with his dead ball skills!

Never minf him. He goes on with a load of ***** about Limerick as well. It must be Killing him that Clare and Limerick are winning All Irelands. Thank God the vast vast majority of Galway Supporters are not like him.

You're obviously a person with a grudge against loughrea. You must've been sick when they won the co final.
