Replying To VernonSmith:  "you got 5 wrong?"
Hopefully my predictions this week get better or Mr. Paddy Power will be a happy man once again.
Group A.
Kells vs Skryne
Two teams who caused big shocks the last day out and will be confident that both can win this game. The game is in Dunganny which is probably one of the better decisions the county board have made in recent years. The Hill of Tara men are faves here and they've improved alot under Mick O'Dowd but they actually couldn't have got worse. I still think the book of kells men are well set with a nice mix of young lads and experienced lads and i think they'll cause another shock here winning out by 1.

Summerhill vs Dunboyne
Two of the favourites for the championship and one of them will be gone after the weekend. A massive game for both obviously after the disappointing defeats the first day out. The St. Peter St. Pauls outfit of half Dunboyne lads and half transfers are missing their 2 best players in Jones and Kinlough but they did win this fixture last year in PT in the quarter. It will be a long Winter in Summer hill if they don't win this and they seem to have regressed this year since Conor Gillespie left but i can't remember the last time they weren't in the quarters and i think they'll keep that record winning this by 2 in a very tight game.

Group B.
Ballinabrackey vs St. Colmcilles
The Bracks vs Cilles is very much not a clash of titans, its more like a clash of Blackpool and Wigan back a few years in the premiership. Both these team competed in the relegation final in the league and whoever looses this, will be looking at that again. Having said that whoever wins this game could be contesting a quarter final or just be safe in 3rd. The Cilles won that game in the league relegation but I think the Offaly men will go home the happier with a 3 pt W.

Ratoath vs Seneschalstown
Probably the most consistent good team vs the most consistent other way team in the SFC the last few years. Both teams won the first day though which will give the yellow furze some belief. Ratoath aren't as good as they once were and Sench are getting better with young lads like Cian Commons coming up. Hickey and Finnegan are massive losses though and the return of Galvin will make this easy for the Ratoath men. Ratoath by 10.

Group C
Trim vs Rathkenny
Another group where the first round winners are playing each other and the loosers are playing each other. Trim have had a great year so far winning div 2 and starting the championship well vs the mountain men. Rathkenny on the other hand pulled off a huge upset vs Dunshaughlin the last day. I think this group will be decided on score difference with all the teams beating Meath Hill and the other 3 all beating each other so I'm taking Trim Castle by 2.

Dunshaughlin vs Meath Hill
I said last week I can only see this going one way and it's not up the mountain and same again applies here. I seen Gary Breslin was flying in the first half vs Trim until he got injured, if he's not playing they actually have no chance here. The Royal Gaels will know last week wasn't near good enough if they want to retain the Keegan cup. I can see them producing a massive performance here and giving Meath Hill a walloping and topping group on score difference. Dunsh by 23.

Group D
Wolfe Tones vs Donaghmore/ Ashbourne
Tones now the team to beat according to the bookies, they were the most impressive winners in the first round but they were playing an aging Simonstown side. A big plus for them is the return of their big promising midfielder Call. They've another big fella adin' the nets which is always good thing but does anyone know why he's wearing 32... seems odd. Ashbourne one of those teams who love ruining my bets. Menton a huge loss to them and when he's not around they're 5 points worse a team. Think this will be a comfortable 2 pt W for the gaeltacht club.

Na Fianna vs Simonstown
Na Fianna did well last time out to draw with a fancied Ashbourne side, but they are carrying a few passengers. Rafferty is playing some stuff at the moment and after that draw, they'll be expected to win this. Simonstown won this fixture in the group stage last year but they are at nothing this year and that's probably a compliment. They could surely do with Colm back in charge, after all he won Meath the Tailteann and laid the foundations for RB. Naf by 2.

First of all I'm not ruling out Dunshaughlin winning a championship but they will have to go and do it the hard way. They have had their slip up and can no longer afford another one.

On Dunboyne they are probably one of the best teams on paper bar Ratoath but over the last 10 years they have under performed with 1 championship win and 1 final appearance. I remember watching them in the final in '21 and thinking there is something missing in this team.

Kells vs Skryne - Still unsure of where Kells are at. Skryne backed up last years championship against Dunboyne. Reckon Skryne by 3

Dunboyne vs Summerhill - Dunboyne have a too many injuries in Kinlough, Jones and McEntee. Summerhill should have enough firepower. Summerhill by 2

Ratoath vs Seneschalstown - Ratoath by 10+

Cilles vs Bracks - Bracks have a more balanced team whereas Cilles as missing their main forward. Bracks by 4

Rathkenny vs Trim - Trim have a lot of lads going for their 4th week in a row. Rathkenny have the O Hares playing hurling but not at as high a level. Rathkenny should be fresher and if Curtis is in the form he was against Dunshaughlin then I reckon Rathkenny by 6

Meath Hill vs Dunshaughlin - Dunshaughlin by 10+

Tones vs Ashbourne - Ashbourne have a lot of quality and are playing lads in their vest positions. Menton missing probably swings this. Tones by 5

Simonstown vs Na Fianna - Simonstown aren't a bad side, they still have Burlingham, Gallagher, McGrath, Conlon, Kane, McKeever and Tobin plus a couple of good young lads after coming thru. Na Fianna have one of the best defenders in the country at the minute though and can't see Simonstown getting any change from him. Na Fianna by 2

Kells vs Skryne: Both turned strong favourites over last time out, Skyrne probably have a bit more about them and get it done. Skyrne by 3

Summerhill vs Dunboyne: Sluggish in the opening rounds from both, with both fighting for their lives. I think despite missing some key players, Dunboyne might catch Summerhill on the hop and nick it. Dunboyne by 1

Group B.
Ballinabrackey vs St. Colmcilles: Ballinabrackey are most likely to join Meath Hill in the relegation final according to Paddy Power. But good opportunity here for them to maybe secure a 3rd place finish at least. Bracks by 2

Ratoath vs Seneschalstown: Ratoath should get this done comfortably enough. Seneschalstown were impressive first time out, but let's see how they get on stepping up in class. Ratoath by 7

Group C
Trim vs Rathkenny: Really interesting tie, could go either way. Trim were easy enough winners last time out, but still have a lot to prove here. Rathkenny by 2

Dunshaughlin vs Meath Hill
Meath Hill probably unlucky to have to play a wounded Dunshaughlin side who simply have to win. If Gary Breslin is out, you really can't give them any chance. Dunshaughlin to bounce back comfortably. Dunshaughlin by 12

Group D
Wolfe Tones vs Donaghmore/ Ashbourne: Tones are just consistently good performers, and could go deep into this competition. Not sure about Ashbourne, think the North Meath men will have too much. Tones by 4

Na Fianna vs Simonstown: Na Fianna by 2

That is some statement to come out with in your Cilles/Bracks prediction.

Id love to know your club, obviously not bordering any other counties.

What a plonker

Kells vs Skryne
First off all not a fan of championship games in Dunganny feels bit wired personally rather club grounds. This is a tuff one to call with both teams full of confidence after big Rd1 upsets but I expect Skryne to kick on here and qualify for the last 8 with a 4 point win

Summerhill vs Dunboyne
Knock out football for these two sides here. I imagine Andy Mcentee is very exited coming up with plans to spoil the two frayne's. If he manages to do this then I think they will win…. however I think either eoin or Conor will catch fire and kick sumerhill into a 3 point win

Group B.
Ballinabrackey vs St. Colmcilles
Polar opposites here with the Offaly men who qualify for Meath playing against Dublin/louth men who qualify for Meath. The Ballinabrackey boys are as tuff as nails, kind of lads who head into the Bog of Allen for breakfast. This is where once again the two teams differ as I don't believe I have never heard anyone describe St colmcilles as hardy or tuff Ever in their entire history of the club . The Bracks to cause an upsets by 2

Ratoath vs Seneschalstown
I genuinely believe Ratoath's biggest issue is trying to get boys off the pitch in time for oasis in croke park. Ratoath by 7

Group C
Trim vs Rathkenny
Rathkenny deserve full credit for their shock win over the champions in rd1. The bookies have this game very close but i fully believe trim will win this game, they seem to be going better than last year and will have to much for Rathkenny. Trim by 4

Dunshaughlin vs Meath Hill
One of the few towns in Meath which actually know they are in Meath and not Dublin which is funny considering they are beside ratoath against the team with Meath in their name. The only thing that needs to be said here about this game is why is it the only senior game on Friday? Surely could put a better game on a Friday!!
Dunshaughlin by 12

Group D
Wolfe Tones vs Donaghmore/ Ashbourne
The somehow Gaeltacht men against the somehow Meath not Dublin men.
Ashbourne keep games close regardless of who they play. Wolfe tones are a solid well set up team but can't understand why they are favourites for championship, willing to nail my colours to the mask and say anyone who is thinking of backing tones to win the keegan might as well donate the money to a charity because they will not win it. However Tones win this by 2

Na Fianna vs Simonstown
The north town blues against the baconstown yellows. Na Fianna with take confidence from their draw with the north Dublin outfit in rd1 while on the surface Simonstown should take absolutely zero confidence from anything this year after an underwhelming division 2 campaign.
Na Fianna should win this but this is where Naf tend to lose , I think the upsets keep rolling and the north town blues will be flying high as they return back home on Saturday night. Simonstown by 2

Good win for Trim tonight to make it 2 from 2.
The way the group is they will probably still end up finishing third...
If the other results go as expected and they lose by 3 or more to dunshaughlin they will come third in the group.

I think if they lose by more than 1 point they are out, which would be a tough pill to swallow

Great game last night, Aaron Lynch by far the stand out player. Rathkenny's backs couldn't handle him.

Curtis was quiet compared to the week before and the O Hare's discipline cost them.

Does score difference only come down the the results the 3 teams who all finished on same points or is it the overall group score difference?

If it is the first way then it is currently the following:
Rathkenny +2
Trim +1
Dunshaughlin -3

If this is the case then Dunshaughlin would need to beat Trim by 3 points and Rathkenny are more or less qualified once they beat Meath Hill.

Remember this happened two years ago with Na Fianna, Ashbourne and Curraha all beating each other and finishing second to Dunshaughlin. Ashbourne went through on score difference in all games and NaFianna appealed it saying it only applies to the games between the teams and lost.
